Seems to me like Lou has gotten away from his philosophy of building from the goaltender out. The defense on this team just isn't scary any longer at either end of the ice. Getting Rachunek to replace Rafalski is just plain ridiculous. Martin is good, but not nearly good enough to offset the departures of Niedermayer and Rafalski. Trade or spend big for a puckmoving defenseman who can play in any given situation.
And just because I think he'd do well in a Devils uniform (and NJ needs all the help on special teams it can get) trade for Jarrett Stoll.
EDIT: Also, if there is a place where Wade Redden might be able to reclaim his lost game, it'd probably be in NJ. |
