"The standard of rule enforcement of the game has changed so much and the game had to change with it," he noted. "It appears to me that the officials are influenced by the fact that it's the playoffs and the standard of enforcement goes down a little, which is real good. Let 'em play.
"It seemed to me that if Game 3 had been played in the middle of the season, there would have been double or triple the penalties that there were.
"If it continues like that and we continue to use it, we can use that to help us. That's the non-skill area of the game, the block-and-tackle part of the game where we have a chance." |

On Marc Savard:
| Quote: |
| Marc Savard, who scored the overtime goal in Game 3: "I'm not a fan of his. He's one of these guys who has batting average but no runs batted in. You know what I mean? He gets a lot of points. He's a good player, I'm just not a fan." |

Interesting read indeed. I think his compliment of Julien was just a wee bit backhanded as well.
Some of his comments paint him as a bit of a dinosaur for whom the game passed by a while ago. But I give him full credit for saying what's on his mind like he always has.
One thing I'll agree on though...Savard, for all his talent and point totals, has never played for a winner and I think his insinuation is that he's never made any team he's on a winner either. While Harry seems to use the baseball references a little too much, I see his point. |

Hey, it's not his fault nobody gets on base in front of him
And if Murray could run, Savard wouldn't hit into so many double plays _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

I think his Julien comments were accurate.
Harry wasn't too good at adapting to the Euro game influx in the 90's. He was always trying to shoe-horn 70's hockey into the 90's. So I agree he was a Dinosaur that the game passed by.
I appreciate Harry's years of service to the organization. _________________ -UP THE IRONS! |

I can't believe he'd say that about Savard... he's been on teams assembled by the likes of Waddell and Button before coming to Boston... what was he supposed to do? _________________ "Oh my God. It absolutely amazes me how people, including those here, can continue to dump on Savard. He's bought into Julien's two way hockey, something unthinkable while he was in Calgary and New York. He's played with wingers that were hardly of first line quality, yet put up first line points. He and Lucic are the only Bruins who have actually hit the net in the last 300000 minutes, and he's supposed to be a set up guy, not a finisher.
The dude scored an OT winner for us in the playoffs- WTF else is he supposed to do to help his team win a Cup?????
Get off his fucking back, it's getting fucking annoying... Go pick on Plekanec for a dirty knee or any number of Habs for diving all over the place.
You talk about me being biased, but based on the comments with respect to this series, we have a lot of hypocrites on this forum... |

| LOL, Chiarelli bitched out the old man for half an hour on the phone, so I'm thinking it was a little more than that... |
