Man, I can't merge topics on here?

Sorry, US679, you posted in a locked thread (which as a mod, you can now do), and I tried to merge with the other CFL Offseason thread but apparently I can't do that on this board, unlike the old one.

Anything that can bring Winnipeg back to the West is a good idea. Although the Grey Cup final was awesome.

My ultimate goal are teams in Quebec City, Halifax/Moncton, and of course, Saskatoon.

Associated topic:

What effect would Toronto gaining an NFL franchise have on the CFL?

I think nothing, but some pundits disagree. What does everyone think?

As an aside I hope Ottawa comes back as the Roughriders - because it's such a cool name you just can't have one. Very Happy

YEAH!!!

I figured it was just a matter of time before they gave it another shot, but it's going to be a tough slog, no matter what.

Well, I will be attending the Lions' once-a-year visit if they come on Sunday or late enough Saturday night, and probably to see a few of the other Western teams (i.e. to cheer against them).

I imagine "Renegades" will be revitalized (the most inappropriate Ottawa name possible), although it would be hilarious if they went with yet another name (assuming they'll never get "Rough Riders" back).

And yeah, no merging in this version of OTP, unfortunately.

In honour of their uniform colour, they should call them the Red Riders.

"AWWWWWWWWWW-HOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ma boy's gonna play in the big league!"

It will be interesting to see what plans they have for rebuilding Frank Clair. It will give QC and Halifax a good idea of how much it might cost to build a stadium.

Halifax really doesn't want any part of this two bit watered down semi pro league...

As for Ottawa, I think it should be legislated by an act of house of commons that all new CFL teams be called the rough riders.

Either that or the bearbackers...

With the NFL, Toronto (and consequently, the CFL) could lose a lot of advertising revenue, both current and unrealized, but as far as fanbase goes... it's too tough to determine.

As for Roughriders/Rough Riders... that's going to be the Saskatoon team's name! Laughing

I think saying that west of the Ontario border would get you slapped upside the head with a syrupy pancake and a watermelon rind.

He's right though, Halifax is more of a third rate kind of town...
