Later in his career, Sami made a commendable transition from scoring forward to defensive forward. He was still a useful player even though he wasn't putting the puck in the net.
To me he'll always be a Whalercane.

| I really liked him in his days on the 'Canes old scoring line with Francis and O'Neill, that was one of the few fun lines to watch in the midst of the Dead Puck Era. Glad he's going out while still an effective player, rather than hanging on way too long like a former teammate of his coughpetrnedvedcough. |
