This is sad. I really liked him. He was a great example of someone from Buffalo that made it big. He was alway proud of being from here and spoke well of his hometown often.
New York Times: NBC's Tim Russert Dead At 58

| NEW YORK (CBS) ― The New York Times is reporting that NBC Senior Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief Tim Russert has died from an apparent heart attack. The are citing family reports. He was 58-years-old. |
It's also scary that he's the same age as my mom and dad. _________________ Lady, people aren't chocolates. But you know what they are, mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling. |

| Holy shit my dad's gonna be so saddened by this. He made it a priority to watch Russert. |

True story, last night I was sharing a few dozen JD's with a journalism friend (I was sloched beyond belief) and we got to talking about Tim Russert. He's a big fan and I used to be one, but I found in recent years he had lost his bite, giving some especially lame interviews to members of the Bush administration. Softball questions and he seemed more interested in adding to his side project devoted to important figures and stories about their fathers.
At one point my friend turns to me and says, "You're really drunk, man." and I yelled back, "I'm not drunk, I just hate Tim Russert."
I didn't kill the poor guy, did I? I swear I didn't hate you, man. _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Luckily, I am one.

Tom Brokaw giving the obit on NBC. In Tom's great career, this might have been the toughest thing he ever had to do. _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Luckily, I am one.

I haven't cried like this over a celebrity/public figure dying in a long time. I have to stop watching the videos. _________________ Lady, people aren't chocolates. But you know what they are, mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling. |

I suppose I don't know this fellow. He seems awfully young and leaving behind some young ones is never a good thing. _________________
