Tale of the tape
Stories to watch:
- Nucks have owned in the previous 4 games against the Flames, taking 8 points while the Flames have only picked up a single from an OT loss.
- Over those four games, Iginla/Huselius/Langkow have 8 points, while the Sedins/Naslund have 19 points.
- The hype has been Iginla vs. Luongo but it really has been more Iginla vs. Kesler/Mitchell and Luongo vs. Kipper; so far Iginla has one goal, while Luongo has outshone Kipper.
- The evidence indicates that AV has outcoached Keenan in every game so far; it will be interesting to see if Keenan will try to use the last change to get mismatches, perhaps get the Iginla line out against Pyatt/Raymond/Jaffray.
- The fanboys over at CalgaryPuck still hate the Canucks with an undying passion.
- The Nucks forwards have had their way with the slower Flames D, particularly in the last two games.
- As usual, BXA, Cowan and BMo are out; Ohlund doesn't sound like he'll play either; Moss and Warrener are out for Caglary.
- Nucks are only five points ahead of Calgary in the tight NW division.
Previous meetings:
- Vancouver 4 @ Calgary 3 (OT)
- Vancouver 3 @ Calgary 2
- Calgary 1 at Vancouver 4
- Calgary 3 at Vancouver 5

Personally, I think the Flames are too skilled and have too much pride to allow another game to get away from them. Look for them to try to get a jump on Vancouver early at home and try to get an early lead. Vancouver is perfect when going into the 3rd period with the lead. The Phlegms will need to stay out of the penalty box; Vancouver has 8 PP goals to Calgary's 4 (granted, 4 of the Vancouver PPG came in game 1). If the Sedins/Naslund are out against Phaneuf/Erickson, look out.

The Law of Averages is going to catch up with Vancouver sometime. The Flegms are going to win one of these games. Ohlund is still out so I'll say 3-1 for the Bad Guys in Red.
Screw CalgaryPuke. That site is a joke. They make the old F/O look cerebral in comparison. The average IQ there matches their hat sizes. Maturity level of the majority of their posters is also in the single digits. Anyone who is registered to that site can quote me. |
