An Early game today 3pm pacific.

Apparently the powers that be have decided that my boy Mason Raymond should be sent down Mad I don't understand what the fuck they are thinking Confused But than again, this is Vancouver Rolling Eyes

Rick Rypien gets the call to replace Raymond so the demotion for Raymond could be short lived as Rypien will likely suffer a broken assbone or some sort of ear flexor injury Mad

Anyway,Here's a preview: http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&page=Preview&gameNumber=668&season=20072008&gameType=2

Go Canucks Go!!

Edler!!

I, too, thought they were sunk without Linden (and Morrison). I was listening on the 'Net, but was talking with the LQ during Edler's attempt -- what move did he do?

Heard on the radio that Pyatt had another strong game but took a puck to the face... Any word on him?

Daniel Sedin said in the post-game interview that he lost a couple of teeth.

Sixth-hand hearsay is reporting a "broken jaw and concussion." This is via HFBoards via Canucks.com message boards... the only reason I'd put any stock in it is because it's the Canucks, where Murphy's Law is the only law.

I hope Pyatt is ok , the game vs Phoenix I think , Pyatt was in the penalty box and they showed a close up of his mug and I thought , this guy finally looks like a hockey player. He has scars on his face now and some facial hair.. he was a pretty boy up until now. Looks good on him and he's playing like it too.

Yeah , I agree with Tuzer in that I dont get the roster moves of late. As much as Im cheering for Beech , that was a peculiar move generally and then sending down Raymond for Rypien and leaving Brown up here , benching Linden again... now dressing McIver ahead of Weaver. I know Vingeault wants to get gritty but this is overkill..but hey , they won.

Where would they be without Edler this season?

Rypien,Brown,Ritchie,Beech & they send down Raymond (the skill guy)

I don't get it?

Pyatt is trying to set a world record for getting hit in the face with a puck Wink Maybe he should re think the plan Laughing

Does anyone here remember Gloria Salming ? (however it's spelled).

He made a habit of blocking point shots with his face. Shocked

I like Pyatt's new look.

It seems the tougher he looks, the tougher he plays.

Coincidence???

Maybe Laughing

It'll be good to have him back in the lineup.
He's become one of our Go-To guys.

I too don't understand AV's roster choices lately. It seems counterintuitive but...
I wonder is half the reason might be motivation rather than replacement.

AV has tons of experience with young guys trying to make the NHL.
From what I can see it appears he is getting a better effort from the young guys than the veterans.

Ohlund, Salo, Naslund and even Linden, rarely give 100% on the ice.
It's hard to say whether that is smart, veterans' caution or a lack of desire but it may be that AV is pulling out all the stops to get his rookies to give it everything they've got when they get the chance and keeping the threat of getting sent back down as a major inducement.
