I don't know anything about this website, so I don't know how relibable this is. It says it was reported by the Chicago Tribune but I couldn't find it.

Blackhawks close to acquiring defenseman

Quote:
According to one source, the Blackhawks recently re-opened discussions with the Anaheim Ducks regarding Francois Beauchemin, while another indicated the team may be interested in Buffalo Sabres defenseman Brian Campbell.

The party line is that they are negotiating his contract. They been saying that for months. Part of me says if they're going to lose him any way, trade him soon. But in reality if he goea at all I'm going to be pissed.

Mad Sad

You mean like the way they were negotiating with Briere and Drury? From what I've been hearing about the alleged Campbell contract talks (which have amounted to no more than a tire kicking), he has one foot out the door I'm afraid.

Imagine a year ago at this time if anyone had suggested Chicago was looking to beef up by acquiring Brian Campbell from Buffalo...

Yeah I read that Buffalo could have had him last summer for 5 years, 25 million and decided not to do it? Confused

Campbell Done Negotiating During Season

Quote:
WGR550- Sabre Defenseman Brian Campbell says that he's through negotiating a contract with the Sabres during the season. Campbell told WGR550's Paul Hamilton that he wants to concentrate on hockey and it's not fair to him or the team to have this distraction. He says that his agent will re-open negotiations after the season. This is the final year of his current deal.

What a bunch of crap.

Brian Campbell isn't responsible for negotiating his contract. That is his agent's job.

Either way he should be focusing 100% on hockey.

Maybe his agent is going to focus on hockey too? Rolling Eyes

If his agent can score, we'll take him.
