He hasn't just been playing shotgun to Kovalev's resurgence. In the calendar year 2007, Tomas Plekanec was our best forward. No ifs, ands, or buts.

He still needs to work on faceoffs, and has some ways to go as a penalty killer, but the 1st line center tag looks good on him so far.
