The McIver call-up made me wonder if Bourdon is up against his ten game limit... [checks his sources] Yep, he's played 9 games... Sask - what's the impact if a rookie plays ten or more games in a season?

I didn't realize that Ryan Shannon is also out of the Moose lineup.

... Ohlund making some progress... But it might be too early to say that they're "cautiously optimistic."

I think his salary officially counts against the cap at 10 games. Not in full, but for every day he's up (including when he's a healthy scratch).

After 10 games, the next magic number is 40 (for an accrued season, which relates to when a player can reach unrestricted free agency).

I'm not 100% on this, but it seems to make sense given patterns I've noticed and little tidbits I've seen. I also know that 10 games played (or a month of actual time) is a magic number for players called up from the minors to be "waiver-free", if they are eligible for waivers. Bourdon isn't for the next 3 years, so that's a moot point.

Good news for Pyatt. No broken jaw or any broken bones , no concussion ... just some dental surgery to put his teeth back in. He didnt even lose a tooth.

He might miss a game but long term wise he's ok.

- Dave Tomlinson , filling in for vacationing Tommy LArschied.

Excellent!

My theory is that he doesn't mind the puck to the face, because with every nick his GQ-eqsue countenance takes, he gets a healthy payout from Lloyd's of London.

Oh, for the love of...

THE ENTIRE TOP FOUR would be out!

Krajicek / Miller
Edler / Weaver
McIver / Cunning Linguist?

I just hope they arent candy coating their injuries like they did with Ohlund. "sore back" for Mitch , will it be a "sore back" 4 weeks later ?..

but they both took part at the morning skate , Mitch was having discomfort and left early while Salo stayed out longer testing out his elbow but didnt look promising acordding to Dave Tomlinson.

Both have been marked GTD (Game Time Decision). Dave Tomlinson doesnt know what to expect.

Word is Alex Burrows wil be their emergency defenceman.

No flights from Winnipeg to Detroit for Bourdon to hop on?

AV sounded more positive about both. He says they're both having some "issues" and wants to see how they look in the warm up before making a decision.

The fact that this wouldn't be automatic leads me to believe that Linger is right that business decisions are keeping Bourdon on the farm.

good news is they both played. Bad news for Salo is he didnt play the PP which defeats half his purpose! but it doesnt look too serious for either guy .. I hope.

Nonis says Ohlund has been skating all week and is very close to returning. Very positive.

Thank God! TSN says he'll probably play tomorrow so it must be just about a certainty since they usually are about a day behind in Canuck news

It shouldn't be that surprising... Unless the situation is dire, they'll want to hold on to Bourdon for the long-term. Weaver is a disposable asset, and McIver needs the experience; neither one is going get you up out of your seats, but they may attract a modicum of interest before the deadline. And now that Ohlund is ready to return means that the picture is getting better.

There's also a (small) chance that keeping Bourdon in Manitoba keeps his stock artificially high (since he played a very limited number of tough minutes against the best opposition while he was in Vancouver) so they can maximize any return for him. Personally, I doubt that they will give him up; Bourdon (20), Edler (21) and BXA (26) are the future Big 3 on defence, replacing Ohlund (31), Salo (33), Mitchell (30).

Ohlund checks out... Just in time to see Willie Mitchell check in... Mad Effing back spasms... Evil or Very Mad

But it is nice to see AV going after Fabio Brunnstrom...
