Not much else to say about it. They can't even score on a 5 on 3. They give Miller no help.
I'm going to the game tomorrow. Whoop-dee-fucking-doo.

Letting Brian Campbell walk will only make them better next season.
Who would have thought Vanek and Roy were a couple of wimps with zero leadership skills?
Anyone on the block we should know about? I'm sure Jochen would fetch a mighty randsom. _________________ It seems like you need to be a physics professor to choose the right TV. Luckily, I am one.

Jochen just signed a big extension earlier this year.
I've heard Max's name out there. Makes sense. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

I really don't like to see this happening to Buffalo. I honestly thought the free-agent departures would be taken in stride (à la Seattle Mariners circa 2000), but the fact that they're not rubs in the fact that, despite the salary cap, there's still a pretty big gulf between the higher-profile and lower-profile teams in the NHL.
I really like Sabre fans and they deserve better. _________________

This really wasn't anything to do with the gulf between higher-profile and lower-profile teams. This was all about Darcy Regier's handling of the contracts the previous summer and his refusal to negotiate during the season. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

I like Sabres fans, too, but the decisions of Buffalo management in the summer of 2006 is the main reason they didn't make competitive offers for their two stars. It's well documented that Daniel Briere was asking for a 5 year, $25m contract in the summer of '06 and the Sabres balked and went to arbitration, which awarded him a 1 year deal for $5m. The Sabres incorrectly estimated the market, and failed to prioritize, instead signing the support players instead of the leaders, such as Ales Kotalik, Max Afinogenov, Jason Pominville, and oft-injured Tim Connolly to multi-year, multi-million dollar extensions. The one they got right was the Ryan Miller deal.
Also probably didn't help that they let Briere's good friend and linemate J.P. Dumont at the arbitration table as a result of all this. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is.
