I kid, but since the other music recommendation thread was becoming a bit bloated, perhaps a new thread just based on 08 recommendations is necessary.

Here are my top-4 most anticipated for the first quarter of 08:

Vampire Weekend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSOM0tQMNZ8

I love the charlatan, college brat motif. Described aptly as Upper West Side Soweto.

Hercules and Love Affair: http://www.myspace.com/herculesandloveaffair

Saw Andy Butler tear apart Montreal's best kept secret (Zoobizarre) in December. Hardcore disco with malice, baby.

Cut Copy: http://www.myspace.com/cutcopy

My favourite album of 2005, back with a new record soon. Aussies are leading the way in electronic music right now.

Hot Chip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljiQlkfva7w

Checking out these cats live in April. The Warning was one of 2006's best. If the White Album-era Beatles were making music today, and were obsessed with synths.

Sorry there's nothing more rocking, but dance tracks tend to sit around for longer, while rock bands tends to explode out of nowhere. I mean these four bands have been trickling new music since the beginning of 07, really.

Kenny Chesney comes no closer than Frisco. No Seattle. This with Keith Urban, Sammy Hagar and Gary Allan opening for him. I may cry...

I may also be going to San Francisco Cool

And yes yes, Razz would go to San Fran, because blah blah blah...

fuckers...

Very Happy
