I know Chuck has a GDT in the Car forum but just in case new Canucks fans are lurking.. plus Chuck will be at the game so he wont even be posting
I have no idea what to expect from tonight.. apparently Canucks won fugly yesterday and still dont look sharp.
Im still rooting against any scab on the right flank of the twins on that PP.
Tough road trip.. CBJ , down to Carolina ..back up to Detroit in 4 days.
I'd be happy with a OTL.. Cam Ward has apparently been studdish thus far. |

| Let me clearify my " Id be happy with a OTL" .. if Eric Staal were to score in OT , I wont be giving the ol Bernie Nicholls pumpernicholl and fist bumping people.. I just wont be horribly disappointed. |

| This Carolina team looks awfully similar to the Flyers team that shit-kicked the Canucks. Luongo is going to have to stand on his head and the Canucks D is going to have to hold their ground and not run around their own zone. This is very much an early season litmus test for the Canucks. |

I'll take the rosy glasses wearing fan approach:
1. If we win - its an early season litmus test result showing we are clearly Cup contenders.
2. If we lose - its too early in the season to make any meaningful reading on future results
Either way it's good.
Seriously - Nucks take it in OT. |

| WTF? Edler out and Weaver in? Then Weaver takes a hooking penalty 50 seconds into the game. Why does this team shoot itself in the foot? |

| Canucks have taken 3 straight penalties against a very potent power play. So far shots are 14-3 Carolina, no score yet. |

| Got through the period 0-0. Last couple of Canuck shifts were good. |

Well a loss but not disappointing. We were lucky to get out of there with the score as close as it was.
Why oh why can't the Nucks play the entire game like they played the last half of the third? |

Best guess ? It took them (except for the penalty killers) that long to get their legs. Having played the night before most teams have a sluggish first period playing the next night.
Again the guys that don't defend on the PK, sit. Daniel, Henrik, Naslund & Morrison. The same guys that are supposed to be the offence of this years team.
Was Mo in the dog house tonight with only 12 mins of ice time ?
Even tho' they gave up 2 PPG, at least some of the "last year's team" appears to be coming back.
3 stars: Bxa, Rypien & Isbister. |

Bieksa and Rypien are awesome. The best part of the Bieska fight , aside from that lovely beat down that you can see first hand in J21's pics.. at the end when Adams' jersey and equipment was over his head , and was crumpled over , Bieksa stopped pummeling him and shoved him away in disgust. Awesome.
I like Rypien , big fan of his uncle , Superbowl champ Mark Rypien. He has great bloodlines. Tough cat.
I respect Isbister answering the bell , but you can tell he wanted the ' no hitting the face' rule. |

There was some nice running of the goalie in the highlights I saw. By both sides. Carolina I expect, but Vancouver, not so much. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."
