Heywood - nice avatar. It is so weird seeing threads with zero subjects and zero posts.

So my friend living above the bar she works at and we all drink at might not be an entirely good thing.

We sent those poor Canadians off to the Bills game with no sleep. Wink

Not so much a thought, but something random from work.

One of our suppliers is Flash Flood Irrigation. Their slogan?

"We Make You Wet".

That is all.

Here I am again - nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains waiting for Dominos Pizza to deliver to my room. I can't tell you enough how pretty North Carolina is.

I had a serious accident the other day.

I walked into the stair that goes up to my kitchen, and hit my big toe on my right foot so hard, that I sprained my big toe, and ripped off half of my big toenail. It's the most agonzing pain I have ever been in in my life.

And then - prepare yourself for grossness - they had to burn a hole through my toenail to relieve all of the blood under the nail.

I just about went right through the fucking roof.

I have been hobbling around stoned on pain meds.. and feeling very very chatty. As a matter of fact, right now all I want is a big margarita and people to talk to.

Sorry to hear about your toe, skinnem... On the bright side, at least you can legitimately stay home and be stoned!

Maureen, in this case I actually know your pain... I had to go through the same process with my left middle finger (which never fully recovered).

Only in my case they used a drill to make the hole.

But in the entire recovery process, I remember thinking, "It's one fucking fingernail, why does it hurt SO DAMN MUCH?!"

Nail was black for a while, then fell off, and then grew back gradually over a few months. But it's still a weaker nail than my others and gives me other (non-threatening) problems.

When I was in my late teens I was drunk one night at a beach and decided to go an punt a sandcastle as hard as I can...it was a rock. So I also have lost a big toe nail and know the pain you speak about, well I know the pain of the day later I can't tell you much about the pain of when it happened.

Thing is the nail before was a little gnarly and the new one grew in much nicer.

Get well Maureen.

Not to downplay your pain Maureen, but does mashing your toe beat childbirth?
Sorry to hear about the suckness. Mix yourself a big margarita and kick back and milk those meds.

I find the best way to avoid such accidents is to keep one foot located i one's own mouth at all times...

Of course that only holds true if you have only one foot ( or one mouth) Laughing
