Contrary to popular opinion, the Leafs' GM job is not coveted among current and aspiring hockey minds. So, that being said, open the coffers and make it it coveted.

A little long, but a good piece on the kind of things the Leafs might be able/have to do to attract some of the top management people in hockey.

No shit, it isn't. If it was, they'd have gotten someone other than JFJ last time around. Laughing

Milbury was saying on TSN last night that the Leafs should offer whatever coin they can to Brian Burke and Samueli to get Burke to the Center of the Universe.

Really, I have no problem w- a rookie GM w/o experience ... it just needs to be somebody who has excellent hockey knowledge & not cave in on agent demands (i.e., no movement clauses).

My intuitive guess is Glenn Healey really does want the job & whle I don't really have anything to base my opinion on, I just think this guy would do an excellent job. He digs a good brand of hockey & woiuldn't fill a team w/ floaters such as Antropov, Ponikarovsky ... I'm not looking for a bunch of goons, just a team that displays some intensity.

Honestly, Leaf games have really lost there luster post Pat Quinn era.

Looks like someone's intensity got them a three game suspension.

For fans that want the Leafs to tank and get a high draft pick and trade Mats, they're pretty pissed about the reffing that will help them do that.

He should have chased that ref out of the bldg! .... And then went after his family! Shocked

This is all going great thus far ..... The depleted Leafs face the Senators tomorrow night. Let's just hope for no long-term injury that would be detrimental to that player's market value.

Leafs should have no fewer than 2 first round picks in this years draft alone.

I'm just glad I have Mats in one of my money pools as it cushions the frustration at him stealing points for the tie with late game heroics.

That should net them a pretty average goalie for a couple of years.
