We've been playing very well and you did us in our own building. Kudos to the better team, I suspect I'll be throwing things at my TV in June when you hoist the Cup...

Yeah, well....we Wings fans are not only used to seeing our team have a great regular season - we expect it.
Nothing matters for most of us until the playoffs. And it is there that the Wings have disappointed us again and again.
But, yeah...it's fun to see them win.

With the Wings, since the back-to-back championships, it's been all-or-nothing in the playoffs. Some great moments, but a lot of early disappointment. You can't win em all and it still sucks to see them knocked out early, but it happens. Since we won in 02, every single team that knocked us out went to game 7 of the Finals(Anaheim, Calgary, Edmonton) or won it(Anaheim  ) so we haven't been bowing out to chumps. We still have a great team to watch year to year and we have had Stanley Cup success, so we have to be grateful.

Oh, don't get me wrong..I love and appreciate my Wings. I have great fun watching the team all season. But I no longer have High-Apple-Pie-In-The-Sky hopes for a cup - just because we beat the shit outta everyone all season. My heart has been broken too often. I just enjoy the team and hope for the best when the season comes to an end.
