My record for GDT threads is pretty bad so this might be my last one for awhile.
Ohlund is back.
I can see a OT/SO result , two hungry teams needing the point. |

man , that was 12 years ago. I just watched the '96 100M Dash last week...caz of Whitman's death. I still remember that like it was yesterday.. that was a long time ago.
man , that means Nagano was 10 years ago .. that seems fresh too. |

Either way, the title is now accurate.
My sister moved to Atlanta in 1996 amid all the hype, hence why I remember it well... the Olympic park there now is basically just a deserted open space. (Or at least was last time I visited). _________________

that just made me remember that bomb that went off in the village
I was so enraged when the American media were naming Micheal Johnson the fastest man on earth. I was SO pissed. I still got goose bumps on the 100m and the 4x100 when I was watching it again. Damn you U-S-A!!!
is there anything to add for the game? just win?
Go Canucks. |

The same as usual,Pitiful effort,I don't know if it's coaching or what but these guys don't even look fit to play junior hockey let alone NHL hockey,We are (BAR NONE) The worst team in the NHL right now.

Wow. Terrific character win (finally) for this team - no cheesy W in SO. To come back after being down in the second intermission, and then dominating the third period.
- Bourdon looked great and more importantly IMO, confident playing with Ohlund. If I were Krajicek, I'd be checking out what the penalties are for early lease termination... This was excellent experience for him - he was +1 for 17:42 of ice time...
- Another solid game from Edler -1 but over 21 minutes on the ice.
- What a difference having Ohlund and Salo in the mix, especially on the PP... Bodes well for the team if they can get Mitchell and Miller back playing, not to mention Krajicek and BXA... The sooner we can ship McIver and Weaver down, the better... Although I didn't notice Weaver so much.
And as I've said before, if Luongo can keep the opposition to 1 goal or less, this team should win... _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

Only one half of McWeaver will ever get sent down, and that's Nathan. Weaver has obviously proved very necessary as a depth defenseman, and I think he's with the big club come hell or high water (barring another depth acquisition); no point in risking waivers at this point of the season when you'd very likely have to find a replacement at some point anyway because of further injuries. _________________

I was thinking more in the Never-Neverland ideal of having the entire starting defense in the line-up.
Mitchell / BXA
Salo / Ohlund
Edler / Miller
With Bourdon / Krajicek for depth
I see your point about having Weaver since I believe they needed 8 defencemen in the playoffs last season. Of course, this is all moot if they don't get to the dance...
I don't think everyone will be back in time for the trade deadline, so in reality, I think Krajicek won't be changing zip/postal codes just yet. But I could see them shipping him out in the summer if they feel that Bourdon is ready. I like Miller but I think he's only signed for a year... _________________ ... Yeah,Bourdon has been one of the few bright spots for the Nucks in these dire times,IMO he hasn't looked out of place at all,In fact he has actually looked dangerous when playing the point and he has played very well positionally as well when in his own zone,He makes a very good case to stay with the big club imo.I mean what the heck,We may miss the playoffs anyway and the kid hasn't hurt us,So I say keep him with the big club and give him the experience. |

| This is a compliment yet also a sign of where the team is but Alex BUrrows has been the unsung hero if not the best/consistant player in this slump. |

I think he's arguably been the Unsung Hero for the year, actually, and may very well win the award.
Although, historically, the award has gone to a guy who is anything but unsung, since the "buzz" for who it will inevitably be develops mid-season... meaning, by definition, that the winner isn't unsung!
Hence, this year it'll probably be Kesler, even though his praises have been sung plenty. _________________

Going along with that theme, I'll put in a plug for Pyatt. In the games that I've seen, he's been using his big body very well; his hands of stone has been his demise though... He'll never be more than a third liner if doesn't figure out how to use his body to full effect. _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

| his game vs Tampa Bay should be in the text book and examined as a blue print at Super Pest University in Esa Tikkanen's seminars. He seems to have discovered the line to which he can and cannot cross .. who was it , Ribero I think , Burrows was just throwing blatant punches at his head, and they both got 2 min roughing!?!?! hilarious. |

Good call on Pyatt, Linger... he's been very good this season and hasn't gotten a ton of recognition except by the die-hards. _________________
