I remember I was watching the Malarchuk game when at my friend's house. I think I blocked out the memory. I was only 10.
Malarchuck actually played a just a few week after the injury.

Zednik wasn't the only one caught with a skate to the head this weekend. Linesman Pat Dapuzzo got clipped by Steve Downie's skate after a particualrily hard check.

He was bleeding bad. The hit caused fights to break out and Dapuzzo tried to get back in and help break it up before his fellow linesman told him to skate to the bench and get tended to.
Scary weekend.
BTW, gotta love Downie still trying to injure/shove/punch Tyutin when he's got him down on the ice. 
As per Zednik... he had just come off a hot week as well with that big TO performance. Is that how his hot streaks end? Terrible injury?
