I was going to get a vanity plate for my wife. In NY you can get a team logo on the plate (was going to get the Isles, duhh). But I wanted to get "FD RNGRS" as the text. Turns out you can only have 6 letters/spaces max. "FDRAGS"? Don't think she'll dig that. "FDRNGR" is singular and doesn't look right. "FRNGRS" looks weird.

Any suggestions?

I think it'll go over the heads of a lot of people (if it doesn't, won't the DMV or whoever's in charge block it for vulgarity?)

But maybe:

NYRSUC

FDNYR

BOONYR

POTVIN

In Ontario they screen potential plates so you may have an issue there in NY also.

Buddy of mine wanted to get a plate that had "Steiny69" as the plate but it was rejected, even though it was for a 69' Mustang and his last name is the beginning of the Steiny part. Frigg'n idiots!

Only 6 letters and spaces with no numbers? Lame. Move to Ontario. That'll solve your problem, unless you run into a problem like Hounsy's buddy.

I would have suggested 11SUKS but your state is lame.

NYLAME. There ya go.

I'm not very helpful.

Numbers are allowed. Guess I wasn't clear on that.

J21- I like them! I will try one later today & let you know how I do. The FDNYR will probably pass, because they'll think it has something to do with the Fire Dept. Very Happy

I was hoping to pass the FD RNGRS through under the guise of a mix of fire dept service & Army Rangers service, neither of which my wife nor I have ever partaken in. Laughing

but I saw a guy with "DAMNBINO" on his NY plate the other day, so I figure they can't be geniuses in the NY DMV. Laughing

6 character rule is only for the plates that have a team logo. Regular NY plates have 8.
