Can someone please run the refresher on the breakdown of what happens with teams that have the same number of points-
I know that when the season is over, all will have the same number of Games played, but does that factor into it now?
With same # of points, is it Most wins? fewest losses? best ratio of Wins/losses
If they are the same does it go head to head first, or divsion or conference record first?
GF/GA?
I remember a link but can't find it
Thanks |

In the event teams are tied in the standings, the following tiebreakers are applied to determine which team receives the higher seeding.
1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).
2. The greater number of games won.
3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.
4. Goal differential |

It's on the NHL.com standings page.

If two or more clubs are tied in points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order:
4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season. |
As far as I know, it's the same procedure to determine the the standings at the end of the season(except for #1 which doesn't matter). _________________ Bring back the old OTP!
