Folks -
Any of you participate in a money league? Let me know if you do as I would be interested in joining one.

Or if there's enough interest here (and among your friends/coworkers), we could always put one together.

Peace

Mad

So far, nothing .... I emailed a few folks from outside OTP.

Maybe I just have problems or something, but I always thought it added a bit to the league having a few bucks on it! Razz

Just make sure these people are committed. Seriously, no quitters, or unprepared bumchucks, and no crazed Sox fans who'd rather have Sean Casey than Albert Pujols. This isn't like hockey where you can set your team and forget about it, baseball requires you check every day or two and make daily transactions.

Make sure these people aren't losers. That's the primary reason I won't bet money on this pool yet, because I don't know if eveyone is really committed.

BTW, why does Big Papi qualify as a 1B, and Chone Figgins as a 2B? I always thought Yahoo had a 20-game rule, like every other sensible ranking company?

You need to join one of our Hockey pools sometime, they are not set and forget leagues.

There are certainly a lot of people signed up. Any word on what kind of people they are? Are they real, stat-oriented baseball fans?

We also have an odd number, can I give the password to a friend of mine who usually does pools with me?

I was hoping that this thread would be about Jenny Finch taking off her clothes, but I guess not Mad Sad

Please do the more the better!

I suggest the OTP folks utilize the nickname feature added this year-then we can tell whos who. As for some of the others:
Crazy Hounds-my friend Mike from Jersey, diehard Mets fan, been in two baseball pools with him along with Football, he overmanages ala Butch on the waiver wire!
Dutch Town and Wakers are folks from work.

My team is pretty stacked considering it's an 18-team league. I'm putting a lot of faith in young players, so I'll have to be aggressive on the free agent and trade markets.

Can someone get the Brawlers to edit their team? We're two weeks in and we already have fucking quitters!

He says he's adjusting his lineup weekly and for you to fuck off for suggesting otherwise. It's nothing personal; he says that to everyone.

Can we please get this fucking asshole Eric Rhoades out of our pool? He cut Adam Dunn and Ryan Howard in the same week - clearly this man-cunt knows shit all about baseball and he's just here to stir up shit.

Yikes...I guess this is what we get for letting in newcomers to get more teams. Not sure why he did that but in order to correct I suggested to Jeff he lock rosters so Rhoades can get both back.
Hindsight 20/20 I say next year we cutback on teams to those who performed reasonably and were active year before.

an Elite Baseball pool? Fuck all ya all then. You can delete me right now.

Its FANTASY...............let's not forget that. The way you folks jumped all over Eric Rhoades is elitist asshole behaviour. If you wanted good experience ONLY that should have been in the Commish's note and then the commish could have rejected people based on his decisions.

I didn't hear all you bitches crying when I dropped Magglio Ordóñez last year.

Count me out for next year.

Exactly. I should have known. Nobody knows 18 people who can truly play fantasy baseball at a competitive level. And if you do - you need to meet other people.

I don't mean to be elitist, but sometimes I just can't stop my awesomeness from oozing out.
