Awsome game. Love the violence, heart and determination from both teams.
COOKE is a fucking joke. Richie was doing exactly what he should have been doing before the puck droped and than the little rat cooke comes over like he's beter that Richie. Fuck do i hate cooke. Then he drives their Dman from behind into the boards. It was a hit from behind. Right in the #'s and about 3 feet from the boards. fuckin weasel. other than cooke and AV's poor poor choice to throw Linden on the ice when richie, isbister etc are on the bench at the end of the game. what did he think was going to happen? Wake up AV!!! |

| Great, just great, I miss a game and it happens to be the best game of the year. I saw the replays and that hit by Cooke is disgraceful. He's a sleazebag. I think that Ritchie should've wailed on him. During a game have two players from the same team ever scrapped? I'd love to see the opposing team's reaction to something like that. |

I asked a bar employee in Quebec City to switch to this game after coming in from the ridiculously freezing cold after the Carnaval parade... I don't gather that they get a lot of people asking for Vancouver/Edmonton games around "La Capitale Nationale."

You know,I'm not a big fan of Cooke,But that hit wasn't near as bad as y'all are makin it out to be,The Oilers were cheap shottin us all night and Cookie took a coupla extra steps is all,Cheap or not,It went both ways that night and he saw it comin anyway,He just added a little drama like most hockeyplayers do nowadays and laid on the ice for effect 
IMO,If somebody lays around on the ice like they're hurt and than you see them back on the ice with no ill effects,Than they should be suspended a minimum of 1 game for unsportsmanlike,There is too much of this bullshit out there nowadays,Players get hit from behind purpously all the time,I would even go as far as to say that more than half of all hits from behind are the fault of the player being hit,This has become an epidemic in this league and it should be dealt with by Campbell and his band of striped idiots.jmhfo |

If the roles were reversed, would you think the hit was ok? I wouldn't. And I don't think it was a legal hit at the time either... It was a cheap shot and there's just no excuse for it. And I see why some teams and their fans think Vancouver is a team of chickenshit cheap-shot artists when plays like that happen. What's worse is that I don't think he was penalized for the hit...

Yeah, it was pretty unambiguously a hit from behind (and a charge), and I don't think you'll find many apologists for it. What's crazy is that on the ensuing retaliation, the Oilers were penalized, such that Vancouver ended up with a power play. They didn't score (thankfully, or the whining would never end), but it was definitely kind of perverse.
Even on HF, the reaction following the hit was of the "WTF? We get a power play?!" variety.

Well ya know,I really never gave a shit what other teams or their pussyassed fans thought of our team Shit happens,Todays hockey is pretty soft compared to the hockey i grew up watching,So I guess I'm just a little desensitized,I thought the elbow to Kesslers face was worse as I did the check from Stortini on Weaver(good thing he missed  )But this shit happens in hockey and unless its a hit like Downies earlier in the year,Than it's just not gonna faze me  |
