The article is vague on whether he's going to join the big club right after the World Juniors. I don't see why he wouldn't - physically he's ready.

They certainly have holes that he might be able to fill. I would guess he's ticketed for Bridgeport, though, if only to ease the transition as much as possible. Kyle's been, shall we say, underwhelming this season for the Gophers. Some of that is because they have not had sufficient linemates for him, but he hasn't really reached up and taken hold of any games. Whereas his (now-former) teammate and fellow first-rounder Blake Wheeler has single-handedly won a couple games all by himself (including one against Michigan early in the season, with a breathtaking effort the whole game).

I'm not knocking the kid. And if the Isles were whispering in his ear (and he was obviously considering signing) then I can see where that would be a distraction.

He was also moved to center against his will which caused static with the coach. He doesn't like center- not his game...

Saw him in Bridgeport in his 3rd game with them. He was impressive. Halfway through the 2nd period the woman in front of us told us she was glad to hear all the nice things we had to say about him- it was his mother. He's been doing well for Bridgeport. No reason to rush him like they have done so many other prospects. Though he shouldn't languish there as long as they had left Tambellini who was clearly ready last year.

He has looked pretty good. Always works hard, in the right place. Damn shame he's up because they've been out of the playoff race for so long.
