Yes, I'm sure many a fan who had no clue that the environment was threatened will come away in the know because they attended a hockey game. 
Are they going to wear green jerseys for a game or anything? Because then I'd really doubt the sincerity of the effort...

In the meantime, the Canucks' "Blue and green make aqua" promotion is under way to raise awareness of marine ecology, and the Los Angeles Kings' "Black and purple make really, really dark purple" campaign is set to teach people about the harmful effects of UV rays.
