Teafragging

It's teabagging, but in video games. When playing online or split-screen in a First person shooter game, and you've just fragged someone, you walk over the opponent's digital carcass, and then press the crouch command repeatedly to embarass the victim while he or she respawns.

It is truly embarassing, and should only be done by professionals. This means you need to earn some respect before you teafrag somebody, or else you will face the wrath of the victim.

1: "Dammit! I just got teafragged by some noob!"

2: "That was me, stupid!"

1: "Fuck."

Somehow, this description falls well short of accurately describing this experience. Mad

EDIT: I think it's Halo 3 where the developers have come up with a way to discourage this; you can set your player/avatar to be in human bomb mode by setting it so a grenade is dropped at the moment of your death; so when the other player e-squats on your carcass, you both blow up...

It's a perk in COD4 - Martyrdom. Discourage it? Who cares if you get blown up though, you still did it to someone! I've never given a rats as about surviving and being patient in video games. Which is why I'm not very good at Counterstrike, can't be bothered with characters like archers and mages in RPG's, and pass it to opposing teams forwards with my goalie in NHL games.

They should call it "Explosive Teafragging" where you get blown up doing it.

Laughing I've only seen it (teafragging) done in the few online deathmatches that I've played.... I haven't played COD4 in online MP - I'm not too keen on run-and-gun type games like Halo3 or COD4. So essentially, I've only seen it in R6V. And generally, I only play coop story or coop T-hunt, so I don't see it much.

I can't wait to play R6V2.

Anyone else going to get it March 18?

No surprise here...

I have both the 360 and Wii; given the dearth of good, exclusive titles for the PS3, I can't see myself justifying the cost. My 7 y.o. is hooked on Super Mario Galaxy, and I admit, it's really cool, but that's about it. Like the author, I prolly spend 20-30 hours per month gaming, and most of that is on the 360 and R6V; I spend less than an hour per month on the Wii.

There are a bunch of different game modes in COD4 that make it not so much run and gun. I play free-for all, which is run and gun, but I also like to play team deathmatch and just sit back and have fun with a sniper rifle. That's the exception to my usual run and shoot first, think later approach Laughing

Mario Kart for Wii is coming soon, isn't it? Mario Kart rules...

Watch out! Looks like the 80 Gig PS3 is being discontinued as well. I checked last week and it was available on the Sony site......I checked this morning and its gone....only the 40G remains.

Now I can't find an 80 G anywhere. SHIT!

all right so in my various travels to acquire a PS3 80 Gg today...I found out several things. They are gone. They are are discontinued. Rumour has it to be replaced by a 120 Gg model.

Rumour also has it that the 40 Gg will be software upgradeable to play old PS2 games.

You can still buy a refurbished 60 Gg or and 80 Gg from Ebgames or Gamespot.

I don't know if you saw the question when I asked, but did you play HL2EP2, and the last battle?

Hounsy, have you started playing Oblivion yet?

Word. Got so caught up playing Portal I never had time to finish Ep2.

First time I played the COD4 mission I didn't calculate wind resistance and I missed. After the shot all the bad guys started scattering and my buddy yelled (keep shooting! Take him out!). Planted two shots right in his chest and bolted for the exit.

I got my X360 back on Friday. They couldn't repair it so they just replaced it with a brand spankin' new one. Fine by me, I've got 6 discs of Lost Odyssey to go through.

I forgot about this... That part about waiting for the chopper to come in was pretty damned frustrating if i recall. I haven't played this in a few months, but what I do remember is that I wanted to do EL's trick of deliberately dying so I could see where they were coming in from; this way I could place the Claymore a little more intelligently... Well, when the shit hits the fan, the game does NOT cycle you back to the beginning of that part of the mission, but at some spot later on... The long and short of it was that I could not re-place the Claymores where they would have the greatest effect. So the bad guys just kept spawning in from all over hell's half acre. What was frustrating was that they just kept killing me despite the fact that I'd run back and forth from cover to cover trying to stay alive, while the spotter that I carried (cause he was injured) and dropped into the same spot just stayed in that same spot and survived the entire mission Rolling Eyes . Anway, I also tried EL's trick of going to the left and looking for cover, but they somehow managed to flank me on that side anyway... I must've spent a few hours on that mission just trying to get past that... Mad The other mission I liked was the AC-130 Spectre gunship mission. It had a kind of hi-tech Space Invaders feel to it... Laughing

EL, what do you think of the R6V2 that's coming out in a couple of weeks?

UPDATE: My JVC A/V receiver packed it in last weekend and I'm waiting for eCost's service department to hook me up with a local repairer; I'm hoping that they won't know how to fix it and just send me a new one. Somehow, the component (analog)-to-HDMI transcoding circuitry seems to be fried; I can't seem to get any component signals to get upconverted to HDMI. But the HDMI-to-HDMI seems to be working just fine (I can still watch Dish Network). I'm very tempted to pick up an HDMI out for the Xbox 360 just so I can get back to playing... Mad

Yeah the sniper mission was pretty damn good, somehow got the dude second try - and I'm the world's WORST shot...

Tried to pick off enough guys to make a running lane for the apartment... but yeah, basically gotta put yer head down and run...

Those Claymores can do as much damage to you as the enemy... as for a hiding spot, after an hour or two of dying, I figured out that if you hide behind the ferris wheel, you can see them coming way sooner than they can hit you. Didn't take much damage... until I got to the chopper and was told "GO GET THE OTHER DUDE".... FUCK!!!!! Barely made it back to him and back to the chopper... if I had died at that point the 360 was taking a 15 story trip to hell Laughing

Cool game but my bro was wrong, weekend rental rather than purchase...

On another note, preordered MLB 2K8 and GTA IV... complete with the briefcase collector edition Laughing

I don't know how you guys found that mission so difficult, I think I only died 2 or 3 times before I finished it Confused I was in a spot kind of beside the wheel that game me a clear path to where they were all coming in, a clear view on the left of the spot where they liked to hide and shoot, and a view through 2 objects on the right where they ran to. A couple of guys snuck up on the right but I managed to get them.

If single player is your bag, then yeah, weekend rental. But the multiplayer is awesome...

Anyone successfully setup the Media Sharing on the PS3? USB only reads FAT32 external Drives..........word of caution.

Haven't tried media sharing yet.

As for R6LV, being developed 'round these parts, I can tell you essentially that it's a sequel in every sense of the word. Ubisoft Montreal kept the same game but will provide new levels, more balanced gameplay, more online options.

They were understandably pleased with the first game, and this one shouldn't be much different.

Think progression like the Splinter Cell series. You'll get sick of it by the fourth game, but for now R6LV will be more of what you want.

So anyway I picked up MLB 2008 the show yesterday....primarily because I don't want to be an uneducated baseball tool this year.

I got the game home and it wouldn't load at all.........so apparently you had to turn off the internet connection and it loaded just fine. The servers were overloaded with people registering their game. Hmmm I would think that EA should probably remove this feature from being automatic next time so idiots don't freak out and start cursing their Belkin routers and or PS3s.........

I have to be honest. I have owned a WII for over 10 months now and have NEVER had a locking up problem or any issue whatsoever.......I've owned this PS3 for a week and I've had to reboot several times and it just locks up for no obvious reason.....I forgot that Sony was so much fun..... Confused

Harmy, they didn't actually discontinue the 80GB model. They're coming out with a that model bundled with Medal Gear Solid 4 in June I think.

My PS3 reads the media off the two systems here without a problem. I didn't even have to set anything up, it just found my shared media. Lucky for me I had already set up the shares to work with my 360.
