How about Antropov to Phoenix in exchange for Daniel Carcillo!?

Now THAT would kick ass! My gut tells me Wayne would be strongly against that however.

I'm hoping the Avs snag Antropov and then roll out a line of him, Brunette, and Stastny, thereby usurping the title Bosc once bestowed upon the line of Antropov-Allison-Ponikarovsky as the slowest in NHL history. Laughing

Really, I would like to see the Avalanche with an I.B.S. line! Laughing

How about Isbister or Immonen?

I'd suggest McCabe for Carcillo...but that would be a total bullshit trade. Wink

Pierre Maguire was just on Vancouver radio , some of his Toronto thoughts if your interested...

he thinks McCabe will A) lift this NTC and B)go to NYR or NYI

Sundin will go to Anh , Det , Mtl or Otw .. he thinks Sundin wants to stay east but Anahiem would be the best fit and might offer the best deal

he thinks Tucker will waive his NTC ... and will be in play.

Mad Man, I hope that deal works out for me! That had been on the table since I believe December - right before both McCabe & Carcillo got hurt. I tried to put together a package deal in which would have included either Bieska or Mueller, but no dice! (Really - I should be posting this in the fantasy hockey thread!) Oh! And Chris Neil is apparently out now with a knee .....

So back on trade talk though:

This was on the front page of: http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/det080222.html

Wings GM Ken Holland has been speaking with the Leafs about a multi-player that could send Sundin and defenseman Hal Gill to Detroit in exchange for a young forward, a prospect and a high draft pick.

The Red Wings are said to be reluctant to give up youngsters Jiri Hudler and Valtteri Filppula, although it's believed the Leafs want one of these two players in a package for Sundin.

If all Toronto wants is Hudler, another kid and a pick Detroit should be all over that...

Who the hell is this Darren Dreger dude on TSN!?

He's been saying for the past month that Sundin won't waive the "no-movement" & now I'm watching a TSN video in where he's saying Sundin is "very hurt" by all of this?

What a bunch of bullshit. I'm sure Mats is fine - he's been in the league a long time & knows the business.

Where is Dreger getting this anyway?

PFfffffffffftttttttt ........

Ok; I think I've had enough of the Sundin trade talk.

Shit or get off the pot. Mad

Really, he's not the only asset that Toronto could possibly move.

If Mats doesn't waive the no-trade, I won't lose any respect for him.

Everybody wants him to leave for the good of the franchise, though he's been in it through the good & bad .... it's not up to him to be the fall guy & savior. Could have, should have, would have .... Quite frankly, it's not Mats' mistake to correct.

Sure - I want him to waive the no-trade as well. But nobody will ever deny that he's one of the few that truly does bleed blue & white.

Whatever the Big Swede elects to do ... he's earned it.

Mad

After the game they interviewed him last night-he clearly semed he didn't know what to do.
Obviously he is our greatest asset and if he doesn't want to move fine-at least try to get rid of the mediocre players on the team.
I hope McCabe waives his NMC and gets us some picks, same w/ Antro.
If we were ever going to get rid of Antro this would be the year to do so...

Butch's favourite hockey writer Andy Strickland writes today:

Quote:

San Jose has discussed a trade with Toronto in which bothe clubs would swap superstars.

TO Toronto:

Patrick Marleau

Steve Bernier

Christian Ehrhoff

and a pick believed to be a 2nd rounder

To San Jose:

Mats Sundin

Tomas Kaberle

I don't think Kaberle is going any where.

But with that said ....

LESS THAN 48 HOURS LEFT !!!!!!!!!! Razz

THough we would have a least seen a couple 2, 3 moves by this point though ....

Confused

Belak is in uniform tonight. Confused

Quite a suprise. He's a UFA folllowing this season & I would have thought somebody would have come through with a 1st rounder & blue-chip prospect by this point.

Perhaps Cliff is holding out for an even more lucrative offer.

RUMOURS: (May be just that, but always fun! Razz )

1) Kyle Wellwood has asked to be traded. Laughing

2) 3 offers are on the table for Bryan McCabe.

3) Detroit like Gill

4) Don't rule out any or all of Matt Stajan, Nik Antropov, Alex Ponikarovsky and Jason Blake being moved.

If true that is funny.

Maybe he heard other teams have better buffets?

They just lost to the worst team in the East, if they mean to reach the playoffs they can't be too serious about it.

Liked the Steen goal, though. Looks like he's learning a few tricks from Mats.

Sundin still out tonight, some say partial tear in the groin...he could be longer than they keep hinting at.

Antropov has knee issues also out.

.... In other news, Raycroft is expected to start tomorrow! Surprised

I imagine this is his chance to showcase himself for a potential back-up job elsewhere next season.
