Washington has the biggest team in the NHL, followed closely by Tampa Bay, Toronto, San Jose and Calgary. Atlanta has the samllest team, but the teams around them aren't too shabby... they include Detroit and Carolina. And here I thought Carolina had some big boys, but I guess it's more down the middle that they do.

When you factor in weight, and average the rankings based on that, Detroit is the smallest team in the NHL.

Habs are still one of the smallest teams in the NHL.

Well, we have 3 centers under 6' tall, so this is hardly surprising. Laughing

But we have outhit opponents in 5 of our 8 games so far, and 1 was a tie.

Colorado is still that terribly undersized? I thought we'd be in the upper half by now. Well guess we just gotta hope Nigel Williams and Chris Stewart make the NHL next season...

The weight thing is Hasek's fault.

Oh, I know why, but on a positive they seem to be playing a little bit bigger this year.

I wonder how much bigger we'd be on the list if O'Byrne replaced Bouillon on the blueline. Laughing

I'm sure that alone would take us up 6 spots. Laughing

Even last year the notion of the habs being undersized was one of the great NHL myths. they are currently very middle of the road in the size catigory, just as they were last year.

The Canucks are the lightest team at 199.5 lb, about 5 lb lighter than the league average. I can tell you they are even smaller than that because there is no way Morrison is 5'11" 185 lb. I doubt Cooke is 205 lb either.
