Desperation is setting in. Missing the playoffs 2 years in a row is completely unacceptable to the Avalanche, especially since Kroenke has already raised season ticket prices and intends to do so again next year. It's more cosmetic than anything else, and I'm betting the Avs are just hoping the addition of Foppa will jumpstart the team (and also an ever-increasingly apathetic fanbase) and hope they go on a run akin to last year's just-short attempt to make the postseason.
It's possible this is precipitating a bigger deal to address greater needs, but the more I think about it the more I doubt it. |
