Good points Hammer, but I still think the trade is pretty funny.
I think Richards will be very good in Dallas. He may never be a 7.8 million center, but he's still a great player. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

Aaaaaaaand like clockwork someone is offering me Patrick Kane for Brad Richards in the OTP $ League...a trade I had proposed and had rejected earlier in the year. |

I agree with Hammer.
As for Vancouver's offer, Patrick White can't score in the USHL. Bourdon's stock is not exactly high. Mike Smith and Corey Schnieder are both solid goaltending prospects, but Smith is the more NHL ready of the two. I would have taken Columbus' offer, but they wanted a goalie, and they got a good one... back... |

No one knows what the Canucks' offer actually was... the names that continually surfaced didn't involve White, though. _________________

Now the question is, how does it all fit together? Do you just go with Ribeiro behind Modano and Richards on the depth chart? Seems like either way you have a very expensive third line center in that case. They could try putting one of them on the wing, like they did putting Arnott with Modano.
In any event, Richards debuts tonight, he will be wearing the number 91. |

Ribs can't play wing... he's utterly awful at it. I assume Mo becomes a winger in this situation, kind of like how Yzerman eventually got shifted to wing in his later years.
Or you run 3 lines with offensive centers. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

Yeah, I think it would be an utter disaster to pair Richards and Ribeiro together, lots of passing, no goals.
I'm going to bet Tippett uses Mo as a third line checker, he's done so in the past, much to Modano's chagrin. I guess it's a question of what would piss him off less, to be used on the third line or to move onto the wing on one of the top two?
I haven't really paid much attention to the Stars and their lineup this year so I have absolutely no idea how the lines would shake out... |

The message from above is to become more exciting and dynamic offensively, so I think Tippett has to make it work in some form that satisfies this.
And of course, try and win the Cup. Hey, no one said it'd be easy. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."
