Meddling owner + extreme pressure to win cup + mid-season freefall + GM who's a better coach = inevitable. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. | That loss to the Leafs must've sealed the deal, visions of playoff past running through everyone's mind, mass panic setting in and all that. |

Yeah, either Mirtle heard Wallace's comments wrong, or Wallace jumped the gun on this.
Melnyk did give a "vote of confidence" just a couple weeks ago so I expect a firing to go down soon.
This is very similar to Calgary's situation last year. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

Not surprised. This team did well at the start of the season, and acc. to the Sens fans I know - it's seen as a hangover from the effect of Murray.
Paddock hasn't won anyone over and this is likely the Sens last good shot. Maybe next year, but Montreal and Pittsburgh look to overtake them. _________________ The fans represent the soul of the organization. This is their team. Us, we simply try to make it better. John Kelley thinks the wrong people are being held accountable and nothing is really going to change in Sens-land. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

I was for the firing of Muckler, but Kelley makes a very good point. It helped absolve the players of their role in the failure. The counter-argument is that it didn't seem to matter early on in the season where, despite Kelley's claim, they were a focussed and driven team.
I still think the problem is a) Emery's fall and b) there is no second line. _________________ The fans represent the soul of the organization. This is their team. The funny thing is their second line center has over 20 goals, but it's still a true statement. Also, their D isn't scoring like they used to back when Redden and Chara were putting up 15+40 seasons. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her.
