I'd assume Bernier is one of the guys coming the other way...

If the Sabres wouldn't spend $6m on Campbell, they won't on Marleau.

Bernier and a first-rounder.

Love that player.

Awesome deal for the Sabres though. Very awesome.

And this even further paves the way for McCabe or Kubina to land w/ the NY Rangers.

Surprised

Sharks finally get the good offensive D that it seems like they haven't had since Stuart's rookie year that it looked like Carle would give them. Bernier is a steep price but SJ is so deep with young forwards it wont hurt them.

I like this trade for the Sharks, but supposedly good offensive D always seem to dissappoint in SJ. We'll see what happens.

I predict they will love Bernier in Buffalo.

Bernier was totally expendable, great trade for them.

Now fire Ron Wilson already.

I'm gonna cry.

Campbell sounded so sad in the interview.

Sad

If he was so sad he'd have re-signed by now. You'll do better with Bernier..

Sharksoup actually started crying in an interview. When asked why he turned down 3yrs/18mil he said the term was too short and that he just saw a man nearly die on the ice recently. He then started rambling about resigning with us in the summer. Heh, I wonder is he will feel the same when we offer him the same damn contract he turned down.
The best interview of the day had to be Miller losing his cool over the trade and having to be bleeped out. Sadly the NHL network re-edited it and never played the full version again.

If I could only make 18 million before forced retirement I'd be so screwed.

I have no issue when guys want to get a better contract, but I hate when they try and claim public pity on the financial front.

That seems to be the prevailing opinion. I'm optimistic about this.
