So I just got back from 12 days in Europe to see that Sutter did nothing at the deadline? Not that we needed to make a big splash, but I'm surprised to see absolutely NOTHING done.

FYI - headline in the Calgary Herald yesterday that made me snicker was something to the effect of "New look Avs defeat Stand-pat Flames"

Not quite true. The Phlegms added Vandermeer; not to be outdone, the Nucks swapped Matt Cooke for Matt Pettinger, and the Wild added Chris Simon. I think everyone is reading from the same message points, "We were good enough to be in the NW division lead with the team we had."

Sutter didn't have the cap room to make any deals, unless he used Tanguay like a lot of prognosticators thought he might.

Given that the Flamers were playing well there's not a whole lot he could have done, or should have done quite frankly. I suppose firing Keenan would've been the "in" thing to do, but...

Frankly, I really don't relate to this team any longer. I am stuck looking at Jarome, Robyn, Mikka and Dion for a hundred years.........yeah they are good but what happens if they suck? And what's their incentive now?

I don't like that the team is locked up in a few players........but the Flames are no exception its happening all over the league.

I don't relate to a team that shows up only when they want to. I relate to a team with heart LIKE THE BRUINS!

The last 2 playoff series were an absolute joke. How they even managed to get to game 7 with Anaheim in 2006 I'll never know, and nobody except Kipper showed up for Detroit last year (honorable mention to McLennan, lol).

Bet you never thought you'd use the phrase 'I relate to a team with heart LIKE THE BRUINS!' before the season started! Laughing

Not moving Tanguay means we are totally f'd on going after Langkow and Huselius too. This is Sutter's mess.....but really what else was he to do?

Sutter should try to get Tanguay to waive his no-trade and deal him at least before the draft.
