The FIRST PLACE HABS (can't get enough of saying that) begin their tough 4 game West Coast road swing tonight in San Jose. The trip this week goes to Phoenix on Thursday, and then a Saturday/Sunday back-to-back session in LA, starting with the Kings and ending with the Ducks.
The Habs have fared very poorly against the Western Conference this year, only beating the Hawks in OT. Detroit, Nashville, Columbus, and Dallas have all beaten Montreal so far, with Montreal salvaging a loser point against Nashville. After this road swing, the Habs have one more game remaining against a Western team, as St. Louis comes to the Bell Centre on the 18th (which is also Montreal's last regular season game against any non-division opponent).
San Jose has won 5 straight, all on the road. They are playing their first game back home after an 8 game road swing, where they lost the first 3 before going on the 5 game streak. Nabokov got a rare game off on Saturday vs. St. Louis, as newly-signed Brian Boucher got a shutout in his Sharks' debut.
Price will go tonight. If you're looking for a potential Halak start, look no further than Saturday vs. LA.

2-2 after 11 secs, or something like that. The Sharks are trying to win down low, but they don't have any muscle on D, so our forwards have been winning the battles behind their net, hence the O'Byrne goal.
If we can settle down and get better matchups (Thornton made Gorges look like an idiot), we'll win this game...or I'll fall asleep trying.

The officiating has really killed the momentum of this game. Guys are still hitting but no one knows what's going to be a call and what isn't. Grabo gets cut in the face with a high-stick and Rooney gives Pavelski 2 minutes. Thanks for knowing the rulebook, jack off.

Whatev, these West Coast swing games may as well be in China - different reffing, different ice (in this case chippy and awful), different style of coaching (trap, just like every other Western Conf. borefest), different standards for icing even.
Truth is, in a game of weird bounces, we were one bounce away from tying or winning the contest.
I will say we could stand to shoot the puck more often. Grabo and Kosty have proven they can dangle - now I want them firing with a body like Guillaume or Lapierre in front of the net.
