Okay, so maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but at least people are talking about the 'Hawks again...

So, razz, does this make 'Hawk fans fair-weathered, too? Wink

They should've won last night, BTW. Completely outplayed the Flames. The Flames got a lucky break on Sarich's goal and Kipper was great (rounding well into form, maybe Keenan knew what he was doing by calling him out).

The kids they're calling up now fit in and aren't way too green.

Getting back into the playoffs would be huge, but would require some remarkable performances. The good thing is, they actually have players capable of putting in a remarkable performance now.

Yep. Wanted to keep him around (I think he got called up when Sopel was injured) and because of his skill level and the injury situation they put him up front. He used to play forward, I think up until his first year of major junior, so it's not new to him.

Yeah, they were running these as their top two lines yesterday:

Kane-Toews-Havlat
Ruutu-Lang-Byfuglien

Beefcake got his hat trick as a forward, BTW. I remember you pointing that out. He wasn't playing D.

Even with Williams injured, Samsonov is still a healthy scratch on this team.

Yeah it looks like he has a high skill level and a huge shot. He crushes people too. What is it that keeps him from a spot on the blue line?

Andrei Zyzuin, obviously. Laughing

I'd assume it's just numbers... how many young blueliners can you try and break in at once? And, probably, in their evaluation, he doesn't project well as a d-man in the NHL. I don't see the Hawks enough to give an honest opinion.

On the Avs broadcast today, they said that the Hawks tried to remove the organ from Hawks games, but after 7 games of rock and roll, the fans demanded that they bring back the organ. That's awesome!

They also said that after so long, they're bringing back old Hawks greats to be ambassadors for the team. More great work!

Ministry's Al Jourgensen has created a Go Blackhawks song in his traditional industrial style. The song is called "Keys to the City."

Best lyric: "The best fans in the NHL/c'mon United Center let's raise hell!"
