For those who don't know, Watchmen was a ridiculously good miniseries created by the British duo of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons back in the '80s. I have serious doubts this will be any good since the last three major adaptions of Moore's work (V for Vendetta, From Hell, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) failed to convey all the depth Moore puts into his work. And yes, kids, believe it or not, some comic books do convey some depth.
Nonetheless I'm definitely looking forward to this. |

This was well after my time (what isn't these days?) but I've always enjoyed the look of these graphic novels on the big screen. Heard a lot about the Watchmen - The movie geeks at AICN have been wetting themselves for years about this movie... _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

I really enjoyed "From Hell" - what was missing? _________________ The fans represent the soul of the organization. This is their team. Us, we simply try to make it better. Actually I did too a great deal, and in defense of the Hughes Brothers trying to put the real depth Moore put into that story would've likely made the film about 8 hours long. One minor complaint I did have was that while it was graphic and haunting and brilliantly performed, it just wasn't nearly as scary as it should have been...
For Watchmen the problem is tenfold. There are so many details to every single character, even minor ones, that IMO make a movie version true to the source impossible. |

Ah. I thought the Hughes Bros. didn't make it scary because the graphic novel WASN'T scary. IIRC, I think they even left that out of the DVD extra that compared the graphic novel to the movie. _________________ The fans represent the soul of the organization. This is their team.
