Cloutier is in for LA tonight.

I can just see the dry-erase board in the Nucks' locker room: "Shoot from center ice, aim for his five-hole, shoot from every conceivable angle in the last five minutes, yell "Cloutch!" when he's handling the puck and you're behind him, and swap out his water bottle with one that is filled with regular beer."

I forgot a few:
"Shoot low stick side. Aim low glove. Aim high on the blocker. Also high glove. Drive to the net on every shot; rebounds are inevitable. Wrap around attempt if you can't get a shot off. On a sharp angle shot, aim high; or aim low, he doesn't discriminate. When behind the goal line, aim for the back of his jersey; you're bound to bounce one in off that."

Unbelievable how passive the Kings are 5-on-5 in their own zone; they look like a 30th place team - no confidence, no interest, no passion, no energy whatsoever. Kings on the PP now with at least some semblance of offence... Nucks outshoot the Kings 12-5 and still can't beat Cloutier... Laughing

Well, so far, they've been the ideal guests and playing down to the level of their hosts... Rolling Eyes

Seriously Shocked I thought we had played a pretty damn good game thus far,We've had the better chances by far and we've outshot them more than 2-1,If that's playing down to their level than I hope we do it every game Cool

Naslund has been flying tonight,He's playing with Raymond and Pettinger and it looks like he may have finally found someone he has chemistry with Razz ,Mind you LA may not be the best game to judge that on Mad

Good ol CLOUCHOKE 5 mins to go can't hold the lead Laughing
Luongo was solid but man this game was won by the checking line.
Kesler & Burrows are freaking unbelievable.
Lui loses his shutout to a BXA brain cramp & the team overcomes it.
Vancouver wins a game they deserved to win Very Happy

Yep, Cloutch is up to his old tricks. Shoot from any conceivable angle in the last five minutes of a period. WTF was Rob Blake doing letting Kesler go to the front of the net on the winning goal? Laughing

Oh well, 2 points is 2 points...

Way to go Burrows AGAIN!!Not to take anything away from Kesler(Great Goals)but Burrows again did all the work leading up to those goals. Is he really as talented as he's shown lately?? or is he just having a Jeff Cowan moment??The one thing I've noticed about AB is the Boy has some moves and when he uses them with confidence,Than LOOKOUT BAYBEEE.....IT"S BURR TIME!!!Shit,I'm getting so excited,I might have to change my name.

Blake = old
I was hoping he'd get traded to the lanche for the reunion cup run.
I wanted to add when OHLUND gave Kopitar the shoulder I got a chill.

That's the ticket Matty...

Just as I would not consider the Preds' game as evidence of the Canucks coming out of their scoring funk, I would be hesitant to characterize Naslund's play against LA as evidence of him having chemistry with Heavy and MayRay... None of them had a point tonight, but I would agree that Naslund looked good; of course, the Kings were as passive tonight as any team has been all season... It's as if their gameplan was to outwait Vancouver and let Cloutier win the game for them...

My three stars:
1. Kesler (19 goals this season now... )
2. Cloutier (comes through for us finally)
3. Burr (two assists, another great game for the kid who will make most of forget Cooke)

Good article about Cloutier's tour through the minors: http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/news/sports/story.html?id=ba1f54dc-5945-4684-9242-7bf0337f2c6e

It doesn't sound like the Kings will buy him out, although I've gotta believe that's their best option with so many young goalies in their system. I'll be interested to see where he ends up after this summer - it doesn't sound like he's happy to be in LA, nor are they happy to have him (Crawford notwithstanding, of course).

Isn't that because he's actually been in Manchester, not LA?

I meant that he's saying he wouldn't mind being traded... But at $3.1M and his rep, it's like having a NTC...

So in other words, Lombo will have to fire Crawford, Crawford will have to find some naked pictures of another GM, and then get the job there and then blackmail that GM into trading for Cloutier.
