With 365 goals, Iginla is now the new benchmark for Flames goal scoring prowess.

They had a real nice article on Theo about this last week. I didn't post it because well i had already read it.

Here it is anyway

http://www.canada.com/calgaryherald/news/sports/flames/story.html?id=0c61bdf7-5d9a-45f6-a460-c3c21220c0c4&k=17570

But luckily Jarome says:

Quote:
"It's cool to be at the top of the goal-scoring thing, but I want to win a Stanley Cup," said Iginla, in his 11th season. "I want to be part of the second Stanley Cup that we have here. (The goal record) is a cool feeling, an honour, but I want to be part of a winning group. Around here, people tell stories about '89 - I want to be a part of that."

Terrific achievement. This team is lucky to have him as a Captain and leader. They say that the Stars getting Nieuwendyk for Iginla was a win-win, but personally, I feel that Calgary got the better end of that deal (even as the Stars did win the Stanley Cup with Nieuwendyk) in the long term.

A trade for your Conn Smythe winner can never, ever be considered a trade you lost.
