And there goes the season...
Course, they'll probably rattle off five in a row now... But let's face it. You can focus on the back end, let in less goals, stay in games, get some bounces, and pick up more points, but it doesn't mean your talent level is any better. Our "snipers" are currently going through inexcusable periods of impotence, even allowing for their streakiness. Having Chara and Bergeron out, as well as an apparently fatigued (yet again) Timmy on his last legs doesn't help, but any team with Glen Metropolit playing top 6 minutes is not a contender.
Don't get me wrong - Metro has been a GREAT player this year. But this team has limits, and it absolutely cannot score. I also don't buy the "in the playoffs no one scores so they're well suited" bullcrap - sooner or later we'll meet someone (read: the Habs) who will ventilate us and knock us out...
Too bad they couldn't have done this a month ago... At this point bring Manny back, let him audition for next year, and see what you got.
Oh and as great of a player as Murray has been, it's time for him to go...
