Whatever, this is Razz-land. Reality, reason, and rationality need not necessarily apply.
Rangers recently passed the B's for 6th place in the conference. Kinda sad it took the high-priced Rags this long to do so... |

As of today, over 69 Boston has 183 GF, 191 GA. Over 68 games, Vancouver has 183 GF, 173 GA. And that's with Mitchell and Salo in and out, and BXA out for a good part of the season _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

Including two games where they were outscored 18-4. which count the same as 1-0 losses.
Keep dumping on the Bruins. If 69 games of solid play hasn't convinced you, then the last 13 won't. Talk about ignoring the facts and reality |

I believe TCL was pointing out your reference that Wideman is better than those listed Canucks defensemen, yet the Nucks have given up less goals
18 less in one less game
Since you've assured everyone that Thomas is better than Luongo, by virtue of the shit defense corps he backstops ....
so which is it?
All jest aside, I agree Wideman is better than he gets credit for, but...
he turns the puck over WAY too often to be considered a top 2 defenseman in my book
the good news is that he's young, and hopefully will get better _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

I'm not really saying he's a top 2 D man - he gets the benefit of playing along side Z - but goal totals aside, he has been part of a pair that has shut down hugely dangerous stars on a consistent, albeit unperfect basis.
The comparison to the Canucks defenseman is merely because it's the Vancouverites who are challenging his abilities. Mitchell has been brutal this year, Bieksa has reverted to form, Salo is more injury prone than Murray... Wideman isn't top 2 yet but he's improving rapidly...
Our long term D:
Chara
Wideman
Lashoff
Alberts
Stuart
Ference
Hunwick
If we keep that unit intact it will be one of the better units in the league in short order. The top 4 after Chara are all very yong as far as D men go... |

There's only 1 top 2 D-man in there and that's Chara. I've got high hopes for Lashoff and Stuart, certainly higher than Wideman. The rest are interchangeable fillers. _________________ "Don't think (Stay)

Today yes, tommorrow much more than that.
As for tonight, WELL... Hasenfratz and O'Halloran... couple of the biggest cocksuckers ever to wear the zebra stripes. Sturm gets drilled into the goalie and the goal doenst count, even though there was no whistle. I think those asswipes grew up Hab fans - we NEVER get a fair run out of them. Kindly die, both of you waste of DNA twats... |

He's playing on the top pair, with Chara. He's fine as that, a top 2 pairing D man.
But on his own, he is not a top 2 calibre D man. He's currently a 3-4 with 1-2 upside...
Subtle but important difference, IMO... |

Hasenfratz is definitely one of the best names in hockey. It means something like cute bunny. |

There's a difference between being able to handle top 2 assignments with a talented partner, and being able to handle it in any situation.
Chara: Can handle top 2 no matter what
Wideman: Can handle top 2 with talented partner
Hnidy: Can never handle top 2.
Assume that clears it up. |

Adding fuel to Razz' argument, this link posted by Av...

They rate Wideman at 76.6 ( $600k) and Boyes at 76.4 ($1.6m)
I'm assuming Wideman is still on his rookie contract _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

Yeah, I dont think they rate goal scoring highly enough. We could use Brad's 40 goals. But, fuck giving up Wideman...
I think he's a RFA, which is nice, should be able to keep him for just into seven figures...
Beat the Philly Fuckers today, and injured Derian Hatcher... what could be better... Hartnell was running around like the dirty fuck he is, but no concussions this time... sick saves by Biron, and Ference's shot was going wide until Carter tipped it in for us , but bottom line we'll take it...
Oh yeah, GREAT fight between Thornton and Cote today, youtube it... sort of Stock-Peat lite...
Chiarelli actually has some sneaky tough decisions this offseason. Murray, Manny, what to do... Ward is an UFA, Kobasew and Wideman RFA's... I assume Chistov is gone but who knows... where do you start Rask. Apparently Scott Gordon had to have a "compete" chat with Tuukka, but since then he's been lights out. Providence is currently #2 in the AHL, which is impressive because with about 500 man games lost to injury this year in Boston, Providence has been without a lot of their top end talent for long stretches as a result... Goes to show that Scott Bradley and Jim Benning have put together one of the truly elite farm systems in the league... |
