Oh yeah Julien thinks Lapierre is gutless too:

Am I the only one who's oddly proud of Maxim Lapierre becoming a super pest? Damnit, other teams have great shit starters, about time we had one of our own.

Thank you Razz, for posting this and convincing me that Lapierre has a real future with our team, playing 12 minutes a night and throwing star players off of their games. He'll be here another 10 years, picking fights with all kinds of Bruins, even long after Claude Julien leaves.

I could see it now, Lapierre running over Tuukka Rask, as Chris Higgins buries home the game-winner. Chris Lee was reffing the game and missed the infraction completely. Phil Kessel is screaming on the bench for a penalty, but it's to no avail as the Habs run their winning streak over their rivals to 25 games.

There's nothing preventing a player from being hit from behind in open ice. It's simply not a dangerous play.

Don't forget Begin hit Savard from behind too. Savard had to struggle back to the bench.
Savard was diving and playing like that puke Ribiero, Hnidy started the fight with Begin. Razz, you need to stop asking for a sissified NHL and man up.

Guess he hurt himself diving:

I really wish these sissy NHLers would man up and take hits from behind without getting injured. Bergeron is the biggest sissy of them all, milking it for the whole year. Bergeron, Alberts, Savard... buncha sissies...
You said it. I really can't understand how a macho guy like you can hope for such a bunch of lilting irish pansies...

Our shit disturbers turn around and go when tapped on the shoulder, rather than picking and choosing how to fill up their dance card. Matt Cooke was available if you wanted a chickenshit pest. Lapierre slithers around until he finds... PJ frickin Axelsson??? Just when you thought the Habs couldn't get more morally bankrupt, they go and up the ante. Rot in hell assholes...

Given the time of year and our playoff situation, Savard is almost certainly faking, right Stinky?

That's the complete opposite of a shit disturber.

The Habs don't need old fashioned thugs - guys who'll drop the gloves on cue - they need guys who'll keep the opposition on their toes, finish their checks and get the other teams' good players off of their games.

Matt Cooke was disliked in Vancouver's locker room, so I'm glad we didn't get him. Lapierre will hopefully develop into a Tikkanen-type, someone who'll cause trouble on the ice, but stick up for teammates when necessary. It helps that Lapierre came up in the system with his teammates - I think the team feels comfortable with him out there. Maxim also doesn't take bad penalties, so the coach can play him more often later in games.

He's a soft little wussy.

A true warrior would play through the pain.

You hurt one of ours (perhaps not on purpose) and we hurt one of yours.

Seems fair to me.

You wanna fix hockey, get rid of the "shit disturbers". They're are the true blight on the game. Fighting will always have a role and those guys have a code. Rarely do you see fighters going after non-fighters.

The Cooke's and Lapierre's of the world are slightly below the amoeba in terms of the developed life forms...

I know. Tough guys like Hatcher never would ever think of high sticking a star like crosby in the mouth breaking 1/2 of his front teeth...

You want to talk about code? What about McSorley? What happened to the code there?

Savard got what was coming to him.

Marc Savard has a broken bone in his back from the Begin hit. Apparently he'll only miss one game. You would figure that kind of injury would be more serious.
