Thursday's key results:
Washington 4 Tampa Bay 1
Montreal 3 Buffalo 1
Nashville 3 St. Louis 1
Edmonton 2 Vancouver 1
Somewhat key results:
NY Rangers 3 NY Islanders 0
Ottawa 8 Toronto 2
Minnesota 3 Calgary 1
The West is decided, with Nashville getting an actual clinch at 91 points, not even having to reach the 92 point bar with a game to play. Their win combined with Vancouver's loss puts them into the post-season for a 4th consecutive year. Meanwhile, Washington becomes the 8th Eastern team over 92 points, which shows the bar was set a bit low since Philly still can easily attain that plateau. It is possible that in the East, a 94 point team could miss the playoffs.
In actual clinches, the Rangers and Flames secured their post-season hopes (the Flames due to the Vancouver loss), and Ottawa has moved closer to that mark with their beatdown of Toronto. The Senators will clinch a playoff spot by reaching OT tonight against Boston. Buffalo is officially eliminated with their loss to Montreal, leaving only 5 teams scrambling for 4 playoff spots.
Here's the West (record to reach 92 points):
1. Detroit - clinched
2. San Jose - clinched
3. Anaheim - clinched
4. Minnesota - clinched
5. Dallas - clinched
6. Colorado - clinched
7. Calgary - clinched
8. Nashville - clinched at 91 points in 81 games
9. Vancouver - eliminated
10. Edmonton - eliminated
11. Chicago - eliminated
12. Columbus - eliminated
13. Phoenix - eliminated
14. St. Louis - eliminated
15. Los Angeles - eliminated
And the East (92 points):
1. Montreal - clinched
2. Pittsburgh - clinched
3. Ottawa - clinched (94, 1)
4. New Jersey - clinched
5. NY Rangers - clinched
6. Boston - clinched (92, 2)
7. Carolina - clinched (92, 1)
8. Washington - clinched (92, 1)
9. Philadelphia - 0-2-1 (91, 2)
10. Buffalo - eliminated
11. Florida - eliminated
12. Toronto - eliminated
13. NY Islanders - eliminated
14. Atlanta - eliminated
15. Tampa Bay - eliminated _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

Thank you, Sask. Your updates are appreciated. I just returned from a month in the Carolinas and could not find any hockey games on the channels in my various hotel rooms. Not even a Hurricanes game.
On top of that, using WiFi all the time, I seemed to have lost OTP(II). I searched deperately for Jeff's phone number in Toronto, but I seemed to have misplaced that as well.
I enjoyed reading about the "hunt" - thanks again.
