Well, time to start these threads....

Here's the NHL.com preview.

But I like this article... it's about an optometrist from Ottawa that wrote Fleury and the Penguins saying that if he wanted to make it harder for shooters to find the net, he needed to ditch his yellow pads:

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/08042008/3/ottawa-eye-doctor-helps-enemy-penguins-goalie.html

Quote:
Leduc explained that the human eye spots yellow more easily than any other color and that is why ambulances, fire hydrants and school buses are often painted yellow.

"This means that of everything on the ice, the most visible object is Marc-Andre's goalie pads," she wrote.

"When the play is so fast, this is an advantage to your opponents," she said. "They can easily pick out your goalie, net and where to aim the puck in a split second."

"At your level of competition, a small thing like this can make the difference between a successful or unsuccessful shot on net."

Leduc suggested that Fleury switch to white goalie leg pads to blend in with his background of ice, goal netting and boards.

Recently, he apparently took that advice and with a new white blocker, trapper and pads improved his statistics to a personal record 0.921 save percentage and 2.33 goals against average.

Now the Penguins will open the Stanley Cup playoffs against Leduc's favorite team.

TSN is apparently pissed that Pittsburgh drew Ottawa, because they were going to choose to continue hitching the Crosby bandwagon for the playoffs, but because of territorial rights, the CBC gets to carry it.

Here's the schedule, and obviously this one will be on Versus as well:

Game 1: April 9 @ Pittsburgh
7 p.m. ET, VERSUS, CBC, RDS
Game 2: April 11 @ Pittsburgh
7 p.m. ET, CBC, RDS
Game 3: April 14 @ Ottawa
7 p.m. ET, CBC, RDS
Game 4: April 16 @ Ottawa
7 p.m. ET, CBC, RDS
*Game 5: April 19 @ Pittsburgh
TBD, VERSUS, CBC, RDS
*Game 6: April 20 @ Ottawa
TBD, CBC, RDS
*Game 7: April 22 @ Pittsburgh
TBD, CBC, RDS
* if necessary

AP (Offthepost.net) -- And in other related news, LA Kings goalie and former Canuck Dan Cloutier was disappointed to discover that his five-hole, glove, blocker, chest protector, and stick did not actually have neon signs saying "Shoot here." He was resigned to considering the possibility that he really wasn't all that and a bag of low-fat chips.

Commodorre with a HORRIBLE pinch, and Chris Phillips demonstrates exactly how NOT to defend on a 2 on 1.

Seriously, how shitty are the Sens playing? It's unbelievable.

End result: Malkin to Sykora for a tap in as Gerber was playing aggressively for a shot... give the guy a break, Phillips, and eliminate that pass.

No wonder Pittsburgh mailed it in vs. Philly on Sunday.

Gary is a Sens killer. Pens will dispatch this heartless bunch easily.

Volchankov with the ugly puck to the kisser. Too bad too, he's one of the few hens with heart...

Wow. A full minute of 5-on-3 and the Sens still couldn't get it done. They didn't even generate that many chances.

Pittsburgh is the superior team. To pretend it has anything to do with 'heart' is a red herring.

True, Rebelball, but I think what's more surprising is not that the Pens won, but that the Sens seemingly put up no fight whatsoever.

It's only one game. The Sens got some decent goaltending so not all is lost, looking good? no, but it's not a shut case yet.

Could the Canadian sports media possibly fellate Crosby any more?

I just saw today's paper... the little headline on the front page (which directs you to what's in the sports section) reads "Crosby leads Pens over Sens".

Crosby was held pointless last night.

Ottawa is fucking awful right now. Malkin is just feeding Sykora. 3 goals, 3 one-timers(one a tap in in front of the net). 6 points in the first two games for Malkin now.

Ottawa just got one. Whitney and Letang looks like they got crossed up on sides because Letang, a right shot was in the left corner and Donovan was left completely alone in front.

And it's tied 3-3 late in the 3rd. Shocked
