Yep, not Grabovski or Ryder tonight. Ryder is out with "a bad leg", Grabovski still out with the flu. So Matt D'Agostini will replace Ryder in the lineup tonight, playing in his first NHL game. His Bulldog teammate Greg Stewart won't dress.

A Kositsyn - Plekanec - Kovalev
Higgins - S Kostitsyn - D'Agostini
Latendresse - Lapierre - Dandenault
Begin - Smolinski - Kostopolous

Well, the regular season is over. D'Agostini is back with the Bulldogs, I'm sure he'll be called up as a black ace when their season is over in a week or two.... after winning the Calder Cup last year, the Bulldogs will miss the playoffs... that team tanked badly after Grabovski and Halak got called up at the deadline and never recovered.

As far as I can tell, Gregory Stewart is still with the team. Here's some injury updates:

Komisarek - still not cleared to play fully, but he's praciticing "hard", so I assume it's just a formality that he'll get cleared for Game 1.

Ryder - wearing a knee brace, but supposedly "improving". I don't know what that exactly means as far as a timeline for playing.

Koivu - off crutches, just has a walking cast... still has not tried skating. Will the team try to start without him? Tough call...

Bouillon - Ankle is still sore, though he is practicing. Will be a game-time decision.

OK, update on Ryder - Carbo thinks he'll play, it's just getting used to the brace that's was being commented on. He's practicing and should be in the lineup on Thursday.

Saku's still the most questionable and most likely to miss the series opener.

Also the team will be going with beards this post-season. May they get long and disgusting like last year's Hamilton team!

Cause every player that comes back from a severe concussion comes back the same player, or even better.

Wow, Streit was third in the league in defense scoring? Shocked

Well, when you play half the year as a 3rd line forward it gives you a bit of an advantage. Laughing

That being said, I think he passed Markov down the stretch while playing D again with Komisarek down, so he can definitely rack up good points from his natural position.

O'Byrne should be playing aginst the Bruins. We definitely could use another big body back there against them, especially since he's only had one minus game since coming back from injury in early February.

Expect the same lineup tonight... Brisebois played an excellent Game 1 Shocked playing the 3rd most minutes.

Bouillon has been told to quit skating for 3-4 days to allow his ankle to heal a bit more, so he won't be available until Game 4 at the earliest. Saku is still not skating.

The good news is that no one got injured in Game 1, and of course, that they won that game. Cool

A Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Kovalev
Higgins - S Kostitsyn - Ryder (Higgins takes faceoffs, but Kostitsyn plays the C position)
Latendresse - Lapierre - Dandenault
Bégin - Smolinski - Kostopolous

Markov - Komisarek
Hamrlik - Brisebois
Streit - Gorges

Look for some shakeup in Game 4... Bouillon is very close to returning, and O'Byrne is being considered greatly by Carbo. Any moves on D would likely put Streit up to forward, and that would make it tough for Dandenault or Ryder to hold onto a spot. I'd guess Dandy would draw out first, but who knows.

Saku will get another x-ray examination on Wednesday, so he's not a possibility for tomorrow at all. He hasn't even been skating, so I'd think it would only be if the Habs lose tomorrow that he'd be considered in this series.

Ryder hasn't done anything yet has he? Streit has been the one weak link on the back end, IMO...

Ryder and Higgins haven't done anything, it's Sergei or bust on the second line. Dandenault has been sparingly used, so yeah, it's between Ryder and Dandy.

Bouillon is a no-go, and Carbo won't reveal any other potential lineup changes publicly until he hands the refs his lineup card, apparently.

This is quite a change, he's usually very forthcoming about the lineup after the morning skate, as you can tell by the updates on this thread. If I were a betting man, I'd say O'Byrne is in, Streit is at forward, and Dandenault is out.

O'Byrne is in! With Komisarek clearly not at 100%, I think we were missing a bit of a physical edge from our D, I think bringing O'Byrne back is as sound an idea as swiping a prada handbag.

Streit will miss tonight's Game 5 with a hip injury (listed as day-to-day), so Ryder draws back in. Expect Sergei Kostitsyn to see some time playing the point on the PP, and Brisebois should be on the first unit with Markov.

A Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Kovalev
Latendresse - Higgins - S Kostitsyn
Ryder - Lapierre - Dandenault
Begin - Smolinski - Kostopolous

Markov - Komisarek
Hamrlik - Brisebois
Gorges - O'Byrne

Bégin - Smolinski - Kostopolous

And so is Bouillon...

Markov - Komisarek
Hamrlik - Brisebois
