Defending champs vs. possibly the most enigmatic squad in the NHL. This should be a tough, tight, defensive affair but you just don't know. The Stars just aren't the same without Zubov, while Anaheim is conveniently rested and ready.

The best playoff winning % in the NHL vs. probably the worst (I'm assuming here) in goal.

Not much for me to say, just wanted to get this one up there as the series starts tonight.

Pronger is gone for this series, right? Because the NHL head office is, well, you know, handing out their suspensions consistently and according to their own standards, and really punishing repeat offenders?

Wish I could watch the game.

Don't have Vs. or the coin to pony up monthly fees to pay for the 900 other channels that go along with Vs.

Fixed for ya...

I don't get the NHL at all. This is probably the best kind of hockey to watch - why wouldn't they want to have as many people watch it as possible? Are they that afraid of going head-to-head with the NBA playoffs? Baseball season hasn't started yet and football is a dim memory...

And Dallas gets the early jump, thanks to an utterly dominating performance by Brendan Morrow.

Don't count these guys out, for sure.

No, I saw more of the Calgary/San Jose game which had spectacular goaltending that I couldn't turn away from that much. It seemed every time I checked out the Dallas/Anaheim game Dallas had another goal, and Morrow another point. Smile

Apparently I can't read and the first game was on FSN. Caught the last 6 minutes of the third and I was pleasantly surprised. I hope the Stars can keep the momentum...

Turco gets a shutout in his first game of the playoffs....hope that's a good sign.

Wow. The champs are down 2-0 with Dallas going home for 3 of the next 4. The Ducks became a 102 point team largely based on a very strong home record...

This is a HUGE mountain to climb.

If it were not for how their season ended, I would've picked the Stars as well. Shouldn't have hopped off that bandwagon, I guess.

Looking at the stats for far in today's game it looks like Turco has realised he's in the playoffs again.

I am thoroughly enjoying watching Selanne and Niedermayer go back to retirement.

Well, Anaheim is apparently not licked yet.

Getzlaf has got to be the most accurate shooter in the league, or at least one of the top 5 currently.

I read somewhere that Anaheim is the fourth consecutive Cup champ to lose in the first round the following year.
