That could be fun, but for kids who don't know any better because their parents haven't done their freakin parenting, this could dangerously glorify violence and give kids a terrible view of what kind of damage weapons can really cause.

I'm not blaming the manufacturer here, but the parents who don't fucking parent their kids.

Other than aesthetics, is it really all that much different from a force feedback chair? I've been in one of those, and they shake so much it could probably kill a baby.

Alrighty then...

I officially bit the bullet and became a membe of the XBOX360 owners club. It came with 2 games (Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Forza Motorsport 2) and I purchased Gears of War as well. I am extremely pleased with all of the games. I was also finally able to use the HDMI port on my TV and I am pleased with the quality of picutre and sound. Good times all around.

I suppose I will wait until Christmas to pick up Guitar Hero III.

Any other game recommendations from the group?

The Orange Box

If you have 100+ hours to kill in a first person RPG, then get Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. They have a game of the year edition for PC with the additional content and expansion, I don't know if they have it for 360 too.

Depends on what you like to play. If you're a FPS guy, I hear great things things about Orange Box (as Bosc says); my current crack is Rainbow Six Vegas; I currently have Halo3 but have yet to open it; the Call of Duty series (2 and 3) is great if you like WWII FPSs - COD4 looks fantastic and will be out November 3rd. Of course, there's also the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter series - that's fun too.

The sales dude at Best Buy recommended the Orange Box. I will look into that one. I love FPS games, but I seem to gravitate to the sports games more often. Obvioulsy hockey, and the obligatory Tiger Woods golf game. I suppose there really isn't a way to go wrong.

Orange Box comes with a great multiplayer game , Team Fortress 2. Im a complete noob to this universe and Im having a blast with it.

My two favourite classes to use are Pyro and Demo. Nothing beats charging into a group of unexpected peons as a pyro and roasting them and hearing the lovely ballad of "critical hit" clinks! or placing sticky bombs all over a trap area and waiting for a group of passer byers to get simultaneously popped into body parts! and having that long list of kills on screen made by you!

good times.

Played the first level of Cod4. Had to turn down the resolution because my vid card is getting outdated for the new graphics-heavy games. It still looks great, though. I might play some tonight after work before I head back to the woman's place.

Gears of War is taking it's sweet time getting to stores Confused

I have to give props to EA. NBA 08 was billed as a game with a brand new pass. shoot, everything engine. Now I can actually post up and the big men aren't totally useless, my passes don't get picked off 30 times a game, and there's a auto button for defense so all I have to do is jump to block whenever the CPU decides to shoot. The AI for your teammates has needed work and they've improved that as well...

Between this and the new FIFA and NHL, they've really done a great job at genuinely improving the realism of these games for 08...

The time that it takes for a packet of information to go back and forth between your comp and the server.

Super Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game since Super Mario 64. To witness it is to have witnessed pure, unfettered beauty.

It's the first absolute must-have Wii game.

Word on the street is that sask is helping to edit EL's piece, so I'm inclined to read it. Thanks for the link, Av.

Always nice to meet a fan. Laughing

My Xmas guide comes out Dec. 6, since Montrealers tend to wait until the last minute to shop for the holidays.
