Wow. I know he's supposed to be a good one but damn that is quite a contract after one full year in the NHL.

Lowe has become one weird cat in recent years. Maybe losing in the finals after having such a great run and coming so close fucked him up mentally?

Meh, it's a better deal than the Carle deal. At least he's proven he can play a regular shift.

Lost in this is that Nilsson got signed for a reasonable rate (3 years, $5.5m) as well.

Why do d-man command so much leverage? I really can't understand this trend.

Edmonton must be looking at some pretty major overhaul to accomadate this... can they deal Staois? Torres and Stoll have definitely got to be gone.
