The Red Wings do seem to enjoy making things difficult for themselves.

Here's a memo that Babcock hopefully gets:

In game 2 and once last night, Lilja just happened to be on the ice when the 2nd of 2 straight goals was scored, and were no more than 11 seconds apart. Lesson? Don't put Lilja out on the ice for the faceoff immediately after the other team scores. Lilja has his uses. Getting the momentum back after the other team has scored is not one of them.

Here's another memo:

Get Lilja the fuck off your team.

Lilja and Stuart over Lebda is just dumb.

Lilja eats up PK minutes more effectively than Stuart or Lebda can, so we don't have to have Lidstrom and old balls out there 24/7.

Seriously, someone tell that kid to settle the fuck down...he's either going to get a suspension or worse if he keeps flying at other players like that. After as much time as he's already missed in his young career you'd think he'd know better.

He usually doesn't jump, but when he catches guys with their heads down and they're low like that, he ends up off of his feet. He has settled down, and the spots where he's throwing big hits are not getting him out of position as much as they used to. He's thrown 3 or 4 of those hit in the same spot against Nashville, when guys are taking an outlet pass and just trying to get out of the zone.

He's had tons of awesome hits this year, but the nhl.com replays are brutal for hits. They basically pick one hit for their game highlights.

I wish I could find the hits that he's laid out Jumbo Joe with before Mad

For all the Lilja lover's out there in cyberland, Your wish is Mike Babcock's command. Lilja sits tonight and Brett Lebda takes his place....

Hmmmmm...2-0 Preds at intermission. I'm sure the Wings can come back but there's little excuse here being down to a team that's looked as sloppy defensively as Nashville has.

Hasek seems completely and utterly unable to stop the long shot nowadays. He's just not seeing it anymore. Any time I've seen the Preds score one like that in the series, there's not even a late reaction, he's completely frozen. Babcock might have to seriously think about Osgood, maybe not for this series...but Hasek can't shoulder the load the entire way.

Of course it's hard to blame the Dominator in this game when his team hasn't scored yet.

I wish these preds and their country music lovin' fans a quick dispatch from the playoffs.

(they should be in Hamilton)

Didn't get to watch this, only replays. Looks like Ellis had a nice night with 39 saves.

2 goals within 32 seconds. Fucking hell Babcock. Get that shit sorted out. That's happened in 3 out of the 4 games. Something needs to fucking change.

Like Av said, Hasek has to be better on the long shots. Sitting on the fucking goal line and spreading your legs is nice, but a shot a foot off of the ice is going to go in. Cut down the angles and try to see the shots instead of going down and praying it hits your pads.

Just start Howard already. Hasek is the worst starter in the post-season right now.

Not quite what Sask wants but, at least Hasek is out now.

And another thing the Wings should be happy about at least...Datsyuk's finally showed up to play in the postseason. He could be given a pass last year though.

Meh, I don't know if I had much of a beef with his performance in these playoffs prior to game 4. To say he Finally showed up isn't exactly fair.

Good. Ozzy in net is a huge step towards helping against Nashville's forecheck because he can actually play the puck effectively, unlike fucking Hasek.

I'm probably not going to see any of this game tonight, unfortunately Mad Mad

I could be wrong, but I thought they were saying that about Datsyuk last year
I seem to remember him having a good postseason, and being part of the reason the Wings made it to the Conference finals....
Of course, I didn't see many of those games, so......

Yeah, he was great last year. But when people start repeating themselves again and again, they start to believe it even if it isn't true...and they keep on repeating it...
