Nothing to complain about here. I didn't think the penalty on Ference was fair, but on balance Montreal was better in periods 2 and 3 and deserved the win. How Sturm, Murray and Krejci don't score early in the game is beyond me.

Speaking of Muzz... as great a player as he has been for us... he's done. Finished, kaput, hang em up Glen, it's over. Get Kessel in there for God's sake.

Great game by both teams, but Montreal is just better. They showed they can play our grit game too, and we can't play their skill game. In a year or two we'll be even with them skill wise, but right now the Glen Metropolits and Shawn Thornton's and Jeremy Reich's, for all of their balls out effort, aren't going to get us a goal. Period.

I didn't think Price was that great, not a knock against him but really, aside from the shot from Murray in the first, what was there to do that required him to make any discernable effort?

I'd have to agree with you there. He wasn't tested but once or twice and those were weak shots. But...he was very poised and full of confidence. The Bruins need to put Lucic in front of him (that's his next Neelyesque step...paying the Price if you will).

All in all, this was a great game to watch and it could have gone either way.

And the Hab hereo? Breezey bee - whoodathunkit?

Earlier this evening I was worried that you hopping on to the habs in the avatar bandwagon was going to bring the habs razz luck.

Well, I was at the Hot Chip concert and missed the 3rd period. I have nothing to add except welcome back to Montreal boys, let's finish them off on our turf.

Unfortunately I'll be missing that game too. Mad

I would like to see Lashoff next game over Hnidy.....but Lashoff's D game is questionable.

Hnidy has been playing very well, for his role ... Lashoff brings more offense, but Julien's decision to sit Kessel in 3 straight games shows he's more interested in grit than flash....

But enough's enough...5 goals in 4 games won't get it done
Putting Kessel on Savard's line won't terribly impact the team defensively, and should damn well increase their chances of scoring a goal
Murray's point-blank shot (the ONE that was actually on net) hit Price in the crest - the old Murray would have put that one under the crossbar
(oops, I guess this version IS an OLD Murray)

Oh I admit it Harmy. I do think Kovalev went down real easy, but they were better and even if we were into the 12th overtime I'm sure we still wouldn't have scored. First rate effort, last rate finish. Won't get it done.

That said, these guys have recreated the Bruin identity. A little short on talent, but they'll never be outworked. As long as they do that, and hit and fight along the way, I'm mostly content.

BTW, watched a bit of the other series' last night and tonight. Those games are ALL fucking cakewalks compared to the hitting in ours. Relatively speaking, the Bruins and Habs are engaged in a series long slugfest. I expect Montreal will either buckle under the beating they took to beat us, or wax their next opponents on account of being able to play both the bruising and skill games and come out on top...

I actually don't think the B's will be short on talent for very long... If Bergeron comes back strong, you've got him, Savard, and Krejci down the middle. You've got Lucic and Kessel on the wings, Sturm drops to a complimentary role... Murray takes a hike. There's plenty of promise there. Lucic has skill, it's just a matter of getting him to use it.

If Lashoff pans out on the blueline... that's a big boost. And then there's Rask arriving either right at training camp next year or the year after.

I hope it's Montreal-Boston at the top of the NE and at the elite in the Eastern Conference for a few years here soon.

Not to get ahead of ourselves here. Montreal has to win a 4th game here before it's all just talk of the future. It won't be easy, as you said razz, the B's have re-established their identity. They won't go down without a fight.
