of course! I still have my D Jax jersey!

Seattle re-signs Trufant... phew! There was word he was leaving and then Seattle would be targetting a CB with their top pick. This simplifies their draft priority: I would think its 1. OL ( deep draft for OL) 2. RB 3. CB 4. TE ...... somewhere in there a K? probably another OL , they're really thinning out now.

Trufant was franchised, so he wasn't going anywhere

But great for Seattle to lock him up, the franchise tag doesn't always work out so well ( just ask Asante Samuel)

Seattle is picking 25th, and there could easily be a few good corners still there if that's their need. As far as OL, only a handful are 1st round caliber and will likely be gone, so I don't see the Hawks using this pick on OL.
They will get better value later on.

I see the Pats not doing a thing until the Jets make their pick @ #6 overall
If Vernon Gholston is still there, I'd say the Pats will take him, if not they'll almost surely try to trade down and take a corner (Leodis McKelven is getting high marks, especially with his return ability)
The Jets seem to be going after the same players the Pats have shown interest in all off-season, and to no-one's surprise they are also interested in Gholston.

The first two picks are almost a lock, or as sure as it gets with the draft
The Phins most likely will take DE Chris Long, and the Rams really have no choice but to take OT Jake Long (their line was decimated last season, which led to Bulger and Jackson being decimated as well)

After that, things will get crazy Laughing

Can the Falcons pass up Darren McFadden? Matt Ryan?
Their D line is also a priority, esp. with Sedrick Ellis and Glenn Dorsey still on the board.
If Atlanta doesn't take McFadden, I would be shocked to see him get past the Raiders. Even though the Silver and Black could use to bolster their DL with either Ellis or Dorsey, Al Davis LOVES exciting playmakers.

That leaves the Chiefs picking between OT Ryan Clady or QB Matt Ryan
They need both Laughing

I can't wait, the first time in recent memory it's so up in the air

Seattle signed K Olindo Mare. From a FFL perspective he's not that great of a producer , defintiely not a strong leg. He kicked in the warm confines of Miami and the friendly dome of New Orleans , not sure how he'll do in damp air in Seattle. Josh Brown had a solid 50 yd leg , maybe Seattle plans on getting back to the red zone alot this year

I would view that signing as an insurance policy, in case they can't come up with a good young kicker in the draft.
Always good to have a veteran in camp for comparison
As far as the draft, haven't heard much about the kickers Embarassed

Hey man, I'm a draft junkie! I pride myself on being informed

What EL is to baseball offseason, I am to football offseason Laughing

That said, you're right Laughing

Mason Crosby was very unimpressive in the contests I saw him kick in prior to the draft, yet he looked pretty good in the real games for the Packers

Seriously, what is it with star Wideouts being such headcases?

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7978168?MSNHPHMA

While I agree that Marshall needs to get his shit together, Cutler should leave this kind of talk to Shanahan.

EDIT: Whoa, what's this!? We cut Elam loose!? Great Shanahan, had a chance to draft Crosby and blew it. Now we have no one. Rolling Eyes

And as much as I hated the guy, losing Lepsis will hurt big time, especially in the running game.

Speaking of WR headcases, the Bungles finally cut Chris Henry
It only took 5 arrests and numerous other "incidents" involving police

That's probably well under the team average. What does the Bengals management have against the guy?

What the hell is going to happen with Chad Johnson?
Who would eat the contract and the ego?

Well at least we know what Shanahan WON'T be targeting at the draft. A deep, if not terribly impressive receiving corps now with Marshall, Stokley, Colbert, and Jackson. Along with Graham and Schieffler at TE we now have plenty of targets...of course the question is if we got the right guy hrowing to them.

As for CJ, come now Chet, you know damned well he's got "Redskins" written all over him. Laughing In fact I think he even posed in front of a Skins jersey with his number on it, didn't he?

I'd say the Raiders would target him but they already blew their wad on Javon Walker.

Not enough arrests to meet the minimum quota for the Bengals?

Laughing nice!

Redskins though? Yet another reason to despise the skins (like I needed another).

Two minute warning... This thread will officially be retired and a more temporally-appropriate thread will be up in its place.

Fuck the NFL.
