Well, the refs didn't call anything the other night when Timonen was shoved into the night by Brooks Laich. So we are even. They've missed calls all series long, it's no surprise. Great win though. Caps came out better in this one but the Flyers didn't give up. Let's wrap it up on Saturday.
Watching the highlights of the game from Versus of the game, that time when Ov set up the Craps first goal and turned to the crowd, he screamed F-U to the crowd. You can hear it clear as day.

A bummer to be sure, but the Caps are still a good story for getting there in the first place.
Still...would've been nice to see more from Ovechkin. Problem is that even with talent like Fedorov and Semin on offense this club needs more help. Fleischmann needs to step it up next year, and hopefully Fehr becomes a full-time NHLer.
McPhee has also failed to get more offense out of the defense. You have a bona fide star in the making in Green, but Eminger simply isn't cutting it, Morrrisssonnn needs to put up better numbers, and Poti, well...hey is Pothier even playing in this series?
Anyway, I'm still wary about GMGM's abilities in the front office. It seems like for every big step he takes forward he makes another that holds this organization back... |

Maybe the Flyers lost confidence when Marty just let the puck roll out of his glove for Semin. That's my shot in the dark. Totally unacceptable. We are the better team and we should have ended it tonight. They let their foots off the gas as usual. I mean they can still win tomorrow night but I don't like their chances.
